An excellent porter. Nice creamy head with scents of coffee and chocolate. Taste is similar but not super strong. Well balanced with a hint of root beer and brown suger in the mix. Body is medium, which makes this go down pretty easy.

There are a number of very good porters in the midwest, but right now this is my favorite.

12 ounce can poured into a pint glass at fridge temp. Date on the bottom is august fifth.

Pours black with a pretty good sized brown had that dissipates fast. Medium amount of fine slow carbonation. Smell is coffee and black licorice.

Taste is a little cherry soda and a little coffee.

Mouthfeel is medium but sticky. Overall, not too bad, just a little too much cherry soda character.

Don't know how I feel about Debs being used to advertise hipster beer. But, whatever, there's plenty of beer that uses like the pope or Mike Schmidt or shit like that so I shouldn't care too much about this.

This is a good porter. Dry up front, lightly sweet middle, pleasantly rough and bittersour porter barely at the very back end. Wonderful portery aftertaste, too, which a lot of newer breweries blot out with their more hop-forward iterations.
