Can date is a mystery, but it was picked up less than five miles from Rev, and drank within three days, so lets just say this was rather fresh. Drank 10.18.14. Poured into a 12oz Tulip.

A: Clear brilliant copper with two fingers of fluffy crystal white head. Large pitting, lots of visible carbonation, moderate lacing, head dissipates quickly leaving no cap and just barely a collar. Visually it reminded me of the new "session" IPAs.

S: Like getting hit in the face with a fresh cut Douglas Fir while standing in a poorly ventilated room which has just received a rather generous treatment of Pine-Sol. Pine, pine, and more pine...then if your sense of smell ever recovers you just might be able to pick up some tangerine and sticky malt.

T: Resinous pine, oily, fresh... like chewing on a fistful of wildflowers. Some malt makes an appearance in a heroic attempt to slow down the hop train, but the effort is futile. Fresh cut Douglas Fir's will be arriving on time, and continuously.

M: Snappy, biting, carbonation that rumbles through the mouth clearing a path for the flood of... you guessed it... pine oil soon to coat your mouth. Leaves you wet, sticky, and begging for more. And yes, that is meant to be taken exactly how it sounds like it should be.

O: Not at all what I had expected. A fairly strong deviation from the Midwest IPA crowd, and the West Coast IPA crowd for that matter. Good on Rev for bucking the trend and producing some unique and memorable.

Poured from a can into a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, orange-copper coloring with a one inch, foamy, fluffy, off-white head. Nose of resinous and piney hops, with a blast of tart and sweet grapefruit, floral hops highlights, and berry sweetness. Flavors are bitter and roasted forward, with a blast of orange rind and grapefruit, both tart and mouth watering sweet. Light, dry body, with a heavily bitter, piney aftertaste. Dry, bitter lingering finish. Crisp and highly drinkable. Wow! Solid, balanced, well crafted IPA.
