An American hop assault for all the ambivalent warriors who get the girl in the end. “Look, I ain't in this for your revolution, and I'm not in it for you, Princess.” This iconic ale features a blend of four hop varieties which creates a crisp bitterness and imparts massive floral and citrus aromas.

This is just one of those old reliable beers to me. Its a nice golden color with a citrusy hoppy aroma. Taste is a piny / citrusy hop profile with a subtle malt background. Drinks smooth. Just a great IPA overall, I've never found myself not enjoying an Anti-hero. It;s my go to while golfing. Refreshing and delicious (318 characters)

This is one I tried a long time ago and was turn offed.... Then a few nights ago I was at a restaurant (family party) where my only choices were the usual suspects (Miller, Bud, Heineken, etc.) OR Anti-Hero (they literally had a "Craft Beer" section with JUST Revolution Anti-Hero)..... So obviously I went A-H. To my surprise, I actually really enjoyed it this 2nd time around. It's not reached my consistent rotation, but no doubt I will be drinking this one again. (470 characters)

Definitely more to the piney end of the spectrum than the citrusy end. Way to much of a sweet malty backbone for my liking, covers up the flavor of the hops. (158 characters)

12oz can, canned 3/6/15 poured into a pint glass

A- pours a slightly hazy bright golden color with a small creamy and foamy white head that retains nicely after the pour, leaving some short lasting lace behind

S- floral and citrus hop aroma with some bready malt, a hint of caramel

T- sharp bittering citrus hop flavor up front with notes of tangerine peel and orange zest, more delicate floral hops follow, lightly sweet bready & caramel malt underline the hops, allowing the citrus bitterness to continue into the finish

M- medium body and carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that finishes creamy and dry

O- very good IPA with almost resinous hop flavor (664 characters)

On draft in Chicago. Bartender's favorite draft.

A: Pours a clear dark amber with an inch of foam that leaves only dotty lacing.

S: Floral, with citrus (grapefruit, orange candy, Mandarin orange). Liquor-like.

T: Follows smell with citrus candy dominant. On a wide shortbread malt base, with the sharp, pungent hops following of candied grapefruit and Mandarin orange. Very hoppy, where bitterness peppers the finish completely.

F: Medium body good weight, with moderate carbonation

O: Hoppy, balanced, sweet, interesting, intense. Worth teasing the flavors apart. (573 characters)

Can dated 3/15/15. Medium amber with 1 finger head that dissipates quickly. Medium to high carbonation. Lemon, orange and floral notes. Taste is hops up front followed by some bitterness. Finishes dry. Very nice IPA. (215 characters)

I guess I should check my purchases next time for a bottling date... this one says 1/18/2015... I will need to get another one of these to re-evaluate. Wasn't my cup of tea. (174 characters)

12 oz. can into a snifter. Pours a very clear copper, like looking at a shiny new penny. A puffy 1 finger head of off-white foam sits atop. Nice aroma on this one - a strong pineapple scent along with grapefruit, pine, apples, and mango. Medium weight and creamy. Very sweet, with strong notes of grapefriut, oranges, and pineapple up front. Some pine and hop bitterness on the back end. Nice malty finish.

Very enjoyable. I was hoping for a little more bitterness and pine presence. My can had about 2 months on it, though, so maybe drinking one that's fresher will change my perspective. Still a great beer, though. Lots of nice fruit. I'd buy it again. (656 characters)

This beer embodies everything you want from an IPA. The hops have a touch of citrus flavor combined with a bit of earthiness and a slight bitterness. The beer is hop forward and brings a bit of the malt flavor up front and then finishes with a slight bitterness. This is the type of beer that both avid and novice IPA drinkers alike would find enjoyable. (357 characters)

Yay cans! Canned 3/09/15.

Pours a huge creamy fluffy 2.5 finger head that forces me to stop pouring, fades fairly slowly too, but leaves nice lacing, a very clear honey orange color.

Nose brings bright hops, nice citrus notes, quite fruity but also a little grassy note, a centennial like fruity grassy character, a little citrus juice, orange juice, a touch spicy and floral, with a bit of a raw malt toasty grain malt underneath, and a touch of a candy caramel note.

Taste brings sweet toasty malts at first, cereal grains and fresh malts, with a little caramel and reddish toasted malt notes. Then hops, grassy floral at first, into fruity hops, not super fruity, but more generic fruity as well, a little citrus note, melon note, and bubblegum note. Hops start mildly bitter, but get quite bitter on the back end as hops turn spicy and chewy, a bit rind bitterness on the back end. Finish is still a bit sticky sweet, but a big spicy rind hop bitterness, bitterness lingers, with a touch more cereal malt.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb, little softness and a little sweet syrupiness.

Overall OK, nice nose, but taste is more malt and the hops leave a bit to be desired, but still a pretty well done fairly balanced IPA that is def enjoyable, and love cans. (1,263 characters)

Orange amber color with thick white head. Great resiny smell -- perhaps the closest to raw, pre-brew hops I've smelled in a beer. Somewhat creamy, sticky mouthfeel. A hint of orange flavor and malt sweetness struggle to break through against an immediate hop bitterness. Not particularly well balanced in that regard, but still a great hop bomb if that's what you're looking for. Excellent can art, too. (408 characters)

A - Orange with powerful carbonation rolling up the sides, transparent, white head, quite persistent, and massive lacing.

S - Pine, lemon, biscuity malts. Hoppy snap.

T - Brilliant combination of hops follows the nose, with glimpses of pine, lemon and orange, slight hint of sweetness. Close builds bitterness, then fades slowly.

M - Powerful carbonation scrubs serious hop drying and a touch of crunch. The end is a pretty clean palate for the next drink.

O - This is an extraordinary trick, bringing ringing hop flavor without burning my palate to the ground. Solid drinkability. I'll pick up a sixer of this, for sure. (630 characters)

Canned on 2/2/15. Hazy copper color, nice head and lacing. Aroma was pretty light with a bit of citrus and sweet bready malt. The taste had some nice citrus flavors and a decent malt backbone. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with nice carbonation. Overall, I thought it was just OK - not that special. (297 characters)

Can. Pours a clearer honey with chill haze. Thick white, frothy head. Strings of lacing. Fairly pungent citrus hoppiness. Grapefruit candy hops. Perfumey floral hops and a dosage of pine. Sugary malt. Similar hoppiness. Candied citrus, pine and floral hops. Noticeable sweetness via the malt. No discernible flavors there, just sweet. Medium bodied. High bitterness. Pretty powerful hop-forward offering. I won't hesitate to suck back this six pack. (449 characters)

Has a nice clear, copper color with a nice thick, white head.
Smells sweet, some citrus notes, very fruity. I picked up on some floral aroma as well.
Immediately taste some malty sweetness with a nice smooth finish. Little to no bitterness. Hint of citrus flavors in the aftertaste.
Very mild carbonation.
Very good IPA, I was very lucky to pick up a 6 pack. (358 characters)

Was honestly disappointed by this IPA. Very overrated as people in Chicago go NUTS over it. Very average IPA over-hyped by silly ChiTown beer drinkers. (151 characters)

Poured from a can into a tulip

A. Pours a nice transparent golden color with a milk colored 2 finger sudsy head that last at least 2 minutes. Spotty lacing

S. Some sweet bready malts and a pine hop aroma. Mango, strawberry.

T. Nice sweetness from the malts and a fuitiness from the hops. Some lingering bitterness. Grassy aftertaste. Very nicely balanced.

M. 5out of 10 on body. Nice mellow carbonation. Slightly dry aftertaste.

O. A really nice IPA. Very balanced. Quite sessionable. Delicious in the winter and proper for a summer BBQ. A goto for me. (570 characters)

12 oz can purchased at Binnys (mix 6) poured into 3 tasting glasses
A - rusty golden hue, 1 finger of fluffy white foam that shrunk down fairly quick
S - hoppy nose, that had a very pleasant sweetness to it - subtle vanilla and citrus to me
T - lemony citrus at first, followed by an expected hop bitterness. nice carbonation
M - dry finish, citrus lingers
O - not being a die hard IPA lover, this would be a "1 and done" for me. The sweetness is a good balance to the hop flavors (480 characters)

2/8 - Mo Dailey’s (Chicago) Draft - One of my favorite IPAs, and fortunate to live in Chicago where it is served in many bars. Mild hoppy taste, not very strong. I love the taste. The revolution will not be televised, but it will continue to be ordered by me at a bar near you. (279 characters)

Poured into a Haw River Farmhouse Ales teku glass. Bottom of can says 01/13/15.

A- Pours a medium amber color with a 3/4 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a half sheet of sheer surface foam. Cobwebs of semi-resilient lacing.

S- Moderate citrus notes remind me of peach, lemon and melon. Also a bit of pine.

T- More grassy than the aroma with a moderate bitterness. Definitely on the dryer side of things though the malt sweetness provides a good balance. Very easy to drink and flavorful 'til the end of the glass.

M- A bit sharp with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the lighter side.

O- A solid IPA for sure but I don't see anything that makes it anymore special than an above average shelf IPA. Slightly undeserving of the hype surrounding it IMO. (839 characters)

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Can dated Dec 15th 2014.

Deep crystal amber orange, quite clear with lots of fine carbonation. Head forms a little slowly but with off white color manages a good four finger tall and controlled size. Heavily soapy and bubbled in the make up, but with some good and decent staying power, and a little bit of clingy pill and bubbled lacing.

Mild hints of pine hop aromatics, a little fruit juiced, but very closed bouquet. Not much really going on down there, some slightly leafy character but feels and senses quite wet. Struggling to find something distinct or just obvious about this on the aroma but it's just not there.

Palate improves quite a bit. Very light and nearly wet body, but still manages some flavorful juice quality. Hints of leafy green and pine sensations, with a bit of mellow wood. Very nice tolerable honey like malt sweetness. Finishes very light and quick letting the flavors almost dissolve and disappear a bit too fast.

Overall fairly good, but sort of not really drawn to this personally which seems to not make me desire this much. (1,118 characters)

Thanks Kevin_Young for sending me this great beer.
Poured from can into 16 oz sam adams glass.
A cloudy gold color with lots of of egg shell white head.
Perhaps too much head as almost went over the top.
Some lacing but nothing to get excited about.
Great hop smell and very floral from the moment it left the can all the way up to the last sip.
Tasted crisp and very fresh, not as hoppy as I would have thought from the smell.
Great IPA that stands up with the best of them. I would drink this all day every day but sadly I only have 2 cans. (545 characters)

Poured from 12 oz can into tulip glass

A - A vibrant golden body and thick, foamy white head. Moderate lacing.

S - Tropical pineapple, fresh flowers, grapefruit rind, and lemon.

T - Pineapple and citrus hop flavors dominate from the get-go. Then, a rush of sugar cookie malt sweetness. The finish is mildly bitter with cloying sweetness lingering on the tongue.

M - a fairly hefty body gives the beer a creamy mouthfeel. Good carbonation.

O - The hop aromas and flavors are superb and inviting. However, the overly saccharine malt just overwhelms the tasting. A drier finish could make this an epic beer. (609 characters)
