An American hop assault for all the ambivalent warriors who get the girl in the end. “Look, I ain't in this for your revolution, and I'm not in it for you, Princess.” This iconic ale features a blend of four hop varieties which creates a crisp bitterness and imparts massive floral and citrus aromas.

Canned on 09/30/15. So about three weeks old. Golden-copper in color which is unique for the style but the head is too fizzy and this is filtered! The nose and taste are full-on tropical fruit. Almost like fruit candy. Could be smoother but it finishes well with a good effervescence. A bit one-sided. I'm happy I tried it and would drink it again if I saw it on-tap.

This was a great go to IPA. Visually hits all the right notes, as well as smells. Fruity, floral, hoppy, bitter, little piney. Everything you want in a well rounded IPA.

Would absolutely seek out again.

L: looks like your typical IPA, copper, tangerine and about a finger of head to go with it. Pretty clear but also a tad bit hazy.
S: Figs, papaya, and orange peel right off the nose.
T: Wow, very smooth with some real nice hops on the end. Taste some nice orange and passion fruit that make this beer very sticky, bitter and sweet all at once.
F: For 6.5% this beer has a nice medium body on it that gives for a nice bitter mouthfeel.
O: This beer is right up there for me probably in my top 10, fantastic IPA. Sweet, Bitter , and super sticky would definitely buy again.

Orange body, white fluffy head imparting a ton of lace. Smells citric and herbaceous. Taste adds an earthy note, which muddles the otherwise crisp hop notes. Glimmer of a malt backbone, not nearly enough to balance the crush of bitterness. Feel is medium to full body, which combined with the hop bomb flavor, make this a sipper IPA.
Close to a refreshing beer with crisp citrus and high bitterness, but the earthy and herbal hop notes with a thicker mouthfeel put this brew on the slow track of enjoyment.

Teetering between golden and Amber in color. Smell is smooth sweet malts with floral hops, not over powering in one aspect or another. Good hop profile, not overly aggressive. Very enjoyable

I tried this from the can in a glass chilled.

The color is medium honey amber with good clarity and thick rocky white head with very fine bead and lace clings well. The smell is a mix of floral and citrus with some faint pine aromas with mild malt sweetness in the back. I really like how the hop flavor comes through in the feel with resinous body and light sweetness from the malt supporting with ample carbonation and alcohol is not apparent even though the finish is dry.

The taste is good with plenty of hop taste and a mild citrus rind quality with slight bitter orange/grapefruit and slight malt body with a very light caramel aspect to balance. The taste is enjoyable and the alcohol is restrained practically not noticeable with the tangy and slightly pine hop flavors. Overall I was very satisfied with the freshness and drinkability I recommend this if you enjoy hop focused beers or IPA's in general.

A friend picked up several cans in Chicago back in early September. Canned on 5/14/15.

Beer poured amber orange with a nice white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is grapefruit and orange, very nice.

Taste is orange and grapefruit rind that leaves a lingering bitterness.

Feel is medium bodied and pretty smooth.

Overall a nice IPA that gets better as it warms. Would drink this if available in the future.

Poured into a tulip glass, canned 9/28/15.

L- Light copper, great clarity, one finger white head.

S- Orange, a little bit of that Juicy Fruit gum hop aroma. A lot of Centennial going on here.

T- Orange, medium bitterness, a light peachiness. Nice dryness. Finishes a bit floral.

F- Medium

O- Very nice IPA, picked up this single while in Ohio mostly cuz it was a week old. Would like to try some of the hop variants of this beer.

Drank this Chicago beer on tap at the Park Tavern in Rosemont. Of the four IPAs, I tried, this felt like true north. Plenty going on but not too-anything. Some citrus, some hops, some sweet. Very solid. Would definitely order this again.

Had this a few times in Chicago but reviewing it closely for the first time.

A - Nice bright, dark golden colour with a one finger off white head and mild carbonation. Spatterings of lace and a half finger of retention.

S - Pine and grapefruit. Not aggressive. A little dank.

T - Follows the aroma pretty close. Pine and citrus. More towards the standard classic elements. Some grass and grain there too. Some earthy notes.

M - Mild carbonation and a medium body with a moderate bitterness.

O/D - Solid IPA. Not gonna blow your mind and remains balanced while being a nice hop fix. Worth a shot.

12 fluid ounce can
Packaged on August 27th, 2015
Reviewed on September 5th, 2014
Served in an IPA Glass

Poured a copper body with a nice amber glow. Clean and clear body with a decent amount of bubbles racing to the head. Bright white head, right around an inch thick. Sparse amount of lacing.

Nice notes of citrus from the hops. Earthy undertones. Biscuity backbone of malt with a touch of caramel to sweeten things up. Nice aroma but limited in intensity.

Floral and citric hops hit the tongue first. Grapefruit-powered bitterness. Slightly sweetened grainy malts lingered in the background. Hops took an earthy turn toward the finish, leaving notes of lemongrass and pine. Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.

Pretty straight-forward IPA. Perfect for any hop craving.

Thanks Adam for the hookup with this freshy. 12oz can packaged 10 days prior to consuming. It appears a clear copper color with soapy off-white head.

The smell is fruity and floral with caramel malt and some herbal/vegetal character. It tastes fruity and floral with some herbal bitterness and caramel malt and slight carbonic character. A nice fruity hop complexity and lingering oily bitterness.

This is medium bodied and modestly carbonated. Overall pretty standard ipa with no frills.

Another really nice pale ale from the guys at Revolution, but it didn't blow me away in any way. It was a really easy drink and was refreshing with a nice clean finish, but I wasn't overly impressed with the hoppiness.

Picked up a six-pack at a liquor store in Ingleside, Illinois. The canning date states it's about three weeks old. Poured right from the fridge into my Red Eye pint glass.

L: Pours a bright, crystal-clear amber with about an inch-and-a-half of off-white head that dissipates quite quickly to a slight ring that leaves decent lacing on the glass. Moderate visible carbonation.

S: Citrus fruit and apricot hop notes are most prominent in the nose. Some cracker malts and more subtle earthy tones are present, as well. Just a bit of funk in the mix. A very pleasant but unassertive bouquet.

T: Tart citrus and stone fruit hop notes right out of the gate, playing atop cracker and bready malts. Orange is the predominant flavor coming from the hops. The middle brings a transition from tart to bitter in the hops, with some additional earthy and funky notes coming into play. The back ends brings a good helping of citrus hop bitter, with just a touch of clear alcohol poking through. There's some very pleasant apricot flavor that lingers in the aftertaste.

F: Medium-bodied. There's big acidity/tartness at the front, followed by some nice creaminess, and a decidedly bitter finish. While it's not syrupy, this one has some stick to it. Very nice level of carbonation.

O: For those interested in a good citrus bomb, this one is probably going to please. There's great fruit flavor all around in this one, and it really does bring the bitter. I find myself wishing for a bigger bouquet and a bit more complexity and balance, but this is a very solid IPA that I would return to again if given the chance.

Aroma - orange, grapefruit, floral, fresh out of the bag hops. No dank.

Taste - orange, lemon and grapefruit hops. Mild pale ale malt with a touch of caramel.

Overall - hard to complain. It's a clean citrus IPA for $10/6. Not too sweet. Not too dry. Not too bitter. Plenty hoppy for the price. Easily one of the best "every day" IPAs in the area.

The smell was a minor sweet hop aroma
This beer would definitely be my go-to IPA in Chicago

This is just one of those old reliable beers to me. Its a nice golden color with a citrusy hoppy aroma. Taste is a piny / citrusy hop profile with a subtle malt background. Drinks smooth. Just a great IPA overall, I've never found myself not enjoying an Anti-hero. It;s my go to while golfing. Refreshing and delicious

This is one I tried a long time ago and was turn offed.... Then a few nights ago I was at a restaurant (family party) where my only choices were the usual suspects (Miller, Bud, Heineken, etc.) OR Anti-Hero (they literally had a "Craft Beer" section with JUST Revolution Anti-Hero)..... So obviously I went A-H. To my surprise, I actually really enjoyed it this 2nd time around. It's not reached my consistent rotation, but no doubt I will be drinking this one again.

Definitely more to the piney end of the spectrum than the citrusy end. Way to much of a sweet malty backbone for my liking, covers up the flavor of the hops.

12oz can, canned 3/6/15 poured into a pint glass

A- pours a slightly hazy bright golden color with a small creamy and foamy white head that retains nicely after the pour, leaving some short lasting lace behind

S- floral and citrus hop aroma with some bready malt, a hint of caramel

T- sharp bittering citrus hop flavor up front with notes of tangerine peel and orange zest, more delicate floral hops follow, lightly sweet bready & caramel malt underline the hops, allowing the citrus bitterness to continue into the finish

M- medium body and carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that finishes creamy and dry

O- very good IPA with almost resinous hop flavor

On draft in Chicago. Bartender's favorite draft.

A: Pours a clear dark amber with an inch of foam that leaves only dotty lacing.

S: Floral, with citrus (grapefruit, orange candy, Mandarin orange). Liquor-like.

T: Follows smell with citrus candy dominant. On a wide shortbread malt base, with the sharp, pungent hops following of candied grapefruit and Mandarin orange. Very hoppy, where bitterness peppers the finish completely.

F: Medium body good weight, with moderate carbonation

O: Hoppy, balanced, sweet, interesting, intense. Worth teasing the flavors apart.

12 oz. can into a snifter. Pours a very clear copper, like looking at a shiny new penny. A puffy 1 finger head of off-white foam sits atop. Nice aroma on this one - a strong pineapple scent along with grapefruit, pine, apples, and mango. Medium weight and creamy. Very sweet, with strong notes of grapefriut, oranges, and pineapple up front. Some pine and hop bitterness on the back end. Nice malty finish.

Very enjoyable. I was hoping for a little more bitterness and pine presence. My can had about 2 months on it, though, so maybe drinking one that's fresher will change my perspective. Still a great beer, though. Lots of nice fruit. I'd buy it again.

This beer embodies everything you want from an IPA. The hops have a touch of citrus flavor combined with a bit of earthiness and a slight bitterness. The beer is hop forward and brings a bit of the malt flavor up front and then finishes with a slight bitterness. This is the type of beer that both avid and novice IPA drinkers alike would find enjoyable.
