An American hop assault for all the ambivalent warriors who get the girl in the end. “Look, I ain't in this for your revolution, and I'm not in it for you, Princess.” This iconic ale features a blend of four hop varieties which creates a crisp bitterness and imparts massive floral and citrus aromas.

Serving Type - Can

Appearance - Yellow with a tan tint, 1/2 foamy head with nice lacing.

Smell - Huge pine aroma mixed with some grapefruit. Malts, lemons, sugars, a little floral note with some spices.

Taste - Starts out a with a big pine and grapefruit blast. Some added spices give it a herbal green tea-like flavor. Orange and lemon is also a noticeable flavor. Slight caramel malt backbone.

Mouthfeel - Tongue gets a lot of pine and grapefruit at first sip. Palate gets more herbal flavors, spices, and caramel malts. Aftertaste is herbal, piney and a malty.

Overall - Nice beer. Plenty of hops to make a big pine and grapefruit flavor. Really easy to drink. A little simple in its flavor but its really done well for what it is. Well worth giving a try.

Appearance - Pours a finger of eggshell head, body is a light orange amber with the slightest haze, a nice ring of lace after each quaff.

Smell - Slight pine, juicy citrus and light tropical, slight herbals of basil - really nice juicy hops smells.

Taste - Wow, great fresh pine with really bright citrus, mostly grapefruit with light orange and tangello, a really nice herbal basil flavor - really bright clean full flavors here.

Mouthfeel - Medium mouthfeel, nice full flavors, juicy and slick, almost medium carb is silky smooth with some really nice crisp and bright edges around the sides of the tongue. A great mouthfeel, very satisfying. Finish is slightly dry and bitter with grapefruit pith, but juicy in the mouth corners.

Overall - Really an excellent ipa, great bright and full flavors here. The slightest citrus sweetness to balance, but the bold pine and citrus to provide complex flavorful pucker. A must try ipa in my opinion - a great ipa that absolutely holds it's own, a must try.

Served in a Dogfish Head IPA glass. Pours a clear amber, with a big, but quickly dissipating off-white head.

Smell is really nice and hoppy - lots of citrus. Super bright.

Taste is a really wonderful orange flavor, and surprisingly not too bitter, considering how wonderful and juicy the hop flavor is. It's pretty sweet, and really tastes like some kind of orange candy. There's a little bit of tartness in there too - like an actual orange. Really, this is probably the most citrusy IPA I've had. The finish is just a tad more bitter than it is sweet, and is fairly dry - it reminds me a lot of actual grapefruit juice.

Mouthfeel is not too thick, not too thin - perfect and expected for the style.

Overall, it's a really great "lighter" (read: not over-the-top) IPA. It's really refreshing, but has tons of flavor. The only criticism I have is that it sometimes can come across as soapy, and is actually maybe a bit _too_ citrusy. I can't believe I can actually have that as a complaint, but there it is. If this was available in GA I would probably have it all the time.
