From the can this beer pours crystal clear and amber yellow. It's not the color that bothers me its the large spongy almost sudsy head that doesn't last very long. The carbonation also looks weak and that's not a good sign.

The nose is a step in such a better direction. Heavy handed hop scent that sets the tone of this beer profile. Pine, tropical fruits and a smooth malty backbone. A very welcome nose on this IPA.

Taste delivers just like the nose with gobs of hop fresh hop flavors and solid malts balancing out the experience. Like the nose there is some citrus and mild pine but the hops diminish to a tea like flavor and a sweet cereal finish. Very tasty and refreshing.

The mouthfeel is solid but could use a touch more carbonation to add to the overal package. It seems a bit flat despite the excellent flavor and scent. This is a great brew and worth checking out especially in cans.

Poured into a Sam Adams pint glass from a 12oz can:

Appearence: very nice, pale malt, with a slight amber color, just how a true IPA should be, not amber, but PALE.

Aroma: to put it simple, its amazing, i get a bunch of citrus with a lingering spicy almost black pepper with some pine, but citrus dominated. Simply a beautiful smell, one of the best smelling IPAs ive ever smelled.

Flavor: hops from begining to end, citrus, again, is dominent, i do get a spicy earthy hop flavor as well, perfectly balanced by sweet lightly toasted malt, almost like a sweet bread. Very well balanced beer right here, finishes slightly dry, while still leaving some mouth feel.

Overall: a world class beer, i dont say that very often, but this one truly is. A great example of a west coast american IPA. I would reccomend this if youre in the market for a true IPA that is NOT overwhelmed with crystal and carmal malts that i feel fight with the hops that we all love in a good IPA, instead, this is pale malt dominated, and it works beautifully. Good job Revolution!

Pour was golden, slightly dull gold. White head

Bitter citrus and sweet tripscal fruit. A nudge of pine and resin.

Very similar to the nose but taken down maybe a few notches. Bursting with hop flavor, never dull. Lots of citrus but a squeeze of pine.

Mild carbonation, slick feel.

Very enjoyable.

12oz. can poured into a pint glass. Really glad to see Revolution available in stores finally.

(A)- Pours a clear goldenrod yellow color. Some good froth and lacing formed. Really solid retention too.

(S)- A nice big hoppy citrus kick to this. Some pineapple and pine needle action. Ever so slightly sweet. Really alot of hops in this smell.

(T)- A really nice smooth crispness combined with smooth hoppy pine and subtle honey sweetness. A great combo of harmonious citrus, pine, and sweet malts. Nowhere near as explosive as the smell was, but for the better this gives way to a great IPA

(M)- A great carbonation level and balance. What I like so much about this one is its not all about how many hops we can smash into the beer, but rather its smooth drinkability and harmonious balance. Just a great crisp and refreshing beer really.

(O)- I was actually quite surprised by this one. Perhaps a new favorite for the style for me. While it is hoppy and fits the style, its not some massively hopped one. Incredibly smooth while maintaining some bitterness, a touch dry too despite being rather thirst quenching and crisp all over. Really well done!

12 oz can poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint.
6.5% ABV, no date.

Thanks for bringing the can up Sweemzander!

A - The crack of the can and subsequent, forceful glug into the pint creates a monsterous off-white head that maintains itself incredibly well above the clear goldenrod beer. Sheet after sheet of thick lace remains plastered to the inside of the pint!

S - Beneath the explosive aroma of freshly cut grapefruit and equally fresh pineapple lies a coating of pine sap resin with bitter implications. Sweet nuances break through with a touch of caramel and cantaloupe while dry pale malts add a bit of graininess. Take a deep whiff of this beer and you'll receive a faint sharpness in your nostrils from the CO2.

T - The first sip gives pause to reflect as the flavor is no where near as strong and potent as the aroma, though it's no discouraging factor. Instead, the flavor carefully balances the powerful hops' pineapple, grapefruit, and pine resin with a taller malt involvement of trace pilsner sweetness, pale grains, and faint Vienna toast.

M - Incredible balance comes from this can, really creating a wonderful drinking experience. Medium-light bodied, there's no feel of heft or that it's filling and the bitter, dry finish doesn't attack the taste buds. It amounts to a quenching brew, really.

O - A hop-head's dream, Anti-Hero IPA carefully applies hops in many different aspects for a full, aromatic presence, delicious flavor, and nicely bitter finish. This is a beer I want another pint of immediately after this one is gone, and it's gone rather quickly.

A - Completely clear golden, very light orange with a few finger creamy white head leaving plenty of sticky lacing behind.

S - Well balanced citrus and pine hops with caramel malt. The aroma seems mellow at times but you can also smell it from the other side of the room when you open the can.

T - Not sure if an IPA can be more balanced than this. Bitter but with enough cracker, caramel malt flavor to even it out. Plenty of hop flavor. Piney, grapefruit and citrus hops make themselves known.

M - Somewhat on the lighter side with moderate carbonation but it still has a sticky, resiny feeling especially in the finish.

D - Might be the best balanced IPA I have had. I could easily drink several of these and not get sick of this beer.
