Poured from a 22oz bomber into a St. Bernardus goblet.

A: Pours a clear, rusty-orange color with a tiny amount of off white head on top. Lacing was minimal and the carbonation was pretty lazy.

S: Aromas of toasted malt blended with perfumed caramel. Slight hint of hops as things progress.

T: As above. More hops than in the smell.

M: Starts with a sweet malt kiss that turns drier and spicier. Quite clean on the tongue with no lingering sweetness.

O: A clean and pretty traditional Oktoberfest. Nice job guys!

12oz can poured into a tulip glass.

(A)- Pours a clear caramel colored amber-orange color. Produced some good off-white froth that stuck around for awhile before dissipating. Minimal lacing.

(S)- A nicely dry yet bread-like graininess meets the most subtle background sweetness in recent memory for an oktoberfest. Ever so tiny hint at a grassy hop-like aroma. The grainy yeast seems to be the predominant aroma.

(T)- I really dig the rustic nuttiness this has up front that is quickly followed by the great graininess and very subtle sweetness from the aroma. A great yeast component in the middle that really blends this beers whole profile together to make a really cohesive beer for the style. This succeeds where alot of oktoberfests fail; it is not overly sweet.

(M)- A great carbonation level. For an oktoberfest, this is quite smooth despite an ever present bready graininess. A mild sweetness balances well with the rustic nutty flavor this possesses. A superb balance for a style I have alot of love/hate experiences with.

(O)- I have not had many new Marzens this season so far, but I think this one really is a fantastic example of the style for me. Smooth, yet a good malt bill meets a nice rustic nutty graininess. Really digging alot of what Revolution is putting out and this is no different.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in a pint glass

It pours a brilliantly clear copper with a soapy big bubbled creme colored head. Lacing coats the sides of the glass.

Crisp and caramel malt are the aroma. Subtle, but straight forward.

the taste is pretty spot on to style with the exception on a too sweet finish. I excpect a nice crisp finish but this just doesn't deliver on that. This is a nice very malt forward beer which could be great with a better finish.

Carbonation is perfect at a medium to high level and mouthfeel would be right there if the finish was dryer. Drinkability is very high though as it should be given a beer that should be drank in 1L glass steins.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery taproom.
Actually, this didn't seem very revolutionary. A nice, orthodox Marzen. Very smooth and tasty.

Appears a deep copper hue with off white cream head, fine even spaced lacing looks great. Aroma has caramel malts, herbal hops kicking in the backend, with a complementary air of very refreshing beer. Lager in a can, I'm game especially microbrewed O Fest. Semi sweet malts bring nutty, earthy notes between the malts and Euro hops I'm very excited to sink my teeth into the rest of the 5 cans I have from the sixer I purchased. Slick oily yet clean and refreshing all in one gulp, I'm a big fan of this Chicago brewed lager, I do know they have a decent German heritage in Chi town this could have been brewed by a direct descendant or a rebel revolutionary who knows how to brew good beer. I'm a fan of the brewery, brewery, and brews that they produce. This is all around quality, go try some if you see the tuba touting lederhosen clad gent next to the fist of the revolutionary. Great artwork complements great beer, go try some folks.

(Served in a dimple mug)
A- This beer pours a crystal clear deep caramel body with a tight carbonation and a thin sticky film of antique white head that is soon gone.

S- The flinty malt aroma has a hint of light toasted malt in the finish but it is clean and well lagered.

T- The dry toasted malt flavor has some Pils and Vienna malt notes that come through with a blend of Noble hop flavors in the clean finish. There is a gentle hop bitterness that lingers.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has no alcohol heat and a nice tight fizz to compliment the clean finish.

O- This beer has a nice fresh soft malt flavor with a good Noble hops and a dry finish. This is a classic.

Pretty close to amber, perhaps a couple shades lighter than copper, Revolution's version of perhaps the most popular season-specific style appears to be a worthy contender. It appears evident as an off-white head, somewhat creamy and somewhat dense, rises to just over a finger. It keeps itself up for the session, fading slowly but never completely. Spotting is heavy and patching is the mjority of the lace left on the glass.
The malts are bicuity with plenty of caramel and a bit of white fruit flesh rather than generic fruits or dark fruits. There's a note of something like honey and toast comes out a bit more as it goes.
In the flavor, there's more focus on a bit of earth, with big breads throughout but giving a toasty note and caramel running with it. The fruit flesh comes out too. Hops are appropriately light but present, mostly floral.
The body rests at medium with a good flow off a consistent carbonation ofeering a nice bite while smoothness is likewise consistent.

Pours a clear orange. Very minimal head. Retention is basically non existent.

Smell is pretty faint. Some wheat and grain. A hint of spice. Nothing special here.

Taste is decent. A little more spice than what's present in the nose. Wheat. A bit watery. But decent.

Mouthfeel is okay. Could be more carbonated.

Overall this is a decent beer. Nothing to seek out but would be good on a hot day.
