Reviewed from notes; originally 10/07.
A-Pours a dark brown color with a creamy tan, two finger head.
S-Smells like a nice standard brown with a roasted kick: some notes of coffee, caramel, bready malt, and some herbal hops.
T-Follows the nose with bready and coffee malt notes but finishes with an odd tea-like finish.
M-Really pretty rich and smooth in body with medium carbonation and a slightly slick mouthfeel.
D-The "tea" finish was really quite distracting in this brew and hard to get by, since it's the taste you're left with. I was really excited to try this one too as I haven't had a beer that was brewed with buckwheat before, but looking back it might have been the culprit.
