Also had this on tap at the brewpub. Poured a very dark amber with little head and no real lacing. Looks like barley wine. Huge mouthful of taste. Tons of hops up front backed by a super full body of malts. The malts really stick with you and, to me, a little overwhelming. It's a bit boozy but for 8.6% it's ok. Not quite as refreshing as I hoped but definitely still good. Definitely a slow drinker. Overall - super awesome on the flavor side, weak on the mouthfeel.

On tap at the pub in a snifter-

Appearance- Deep copper pour with a good finger of head. Good lacing.

Aroma- Nice citrus hop pop on the nose. A light note of sweet malt to follow.

Taste- Grapefruit right on the first taste, a bit of malty goodness right in the middle, and a nice bitter finish. Much better citrus pop than the double fist and well balanced.

Mouth- Pretty light an non-sticky for such a high abv pale ale.

Drink- Again very light on your palate and non-cloying.

Overall this is very good beer and significantly better than the double fist.

Appearance is somewhat dark reddish with nice clarity. White head forms with spotty lacing. Nose is piny and resinous with sweet malty notes to round it out. Taste is sweet up front with a deep piny hop profile. The hops never become bitter but are rather pungent. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is thick with moderate carbonation. Overall, quite tasty. Honestly I would've guessed the abv was higher, this drinks like an 11%er.

On-tap at Revolution. Apparently this is Batch #100. Served in a snifter.

A - Served with a finger of light tan foam that features excellent retention and settles to a thick collar and partial cap, leaving glass-coating lace. Transparent copper body.

S - Huge citrus nose, pine, and maybe a faint whiff of astringent aspirin as it warms up. In any case, this is a true "Triple Pale Ale", as there is minimal malt character here.

T - The taste features a bit more in the way of sugar and toffee in the backbone, but again, it's mostly citrus, tropical fruits, and candied hop flavors. Alcohol is nowhere to be found.

M - Slightly gritty medium body, medium-low carbonation, well-hidden alcohol. Nice resiny enamel-coating finish.

D - This is a very good hoppy high-gravity pale ale. I'd definitely order this again and hope that they brew it on a semi-regular basis. Alcohol is dangerously well-hidden here.

On tap at the pub. Served in a sniffer.

Deep brown orange in color, similar to bourbon. Served with a very small light tan head that dissipates quickly. Some light lacing.

Aroma of sweet orange, orange blossoms, and pine all rounded out with some malt.

Taste is similar to the aroma. Lots of sweet candied malts and citrus with some pine. Moderate bitterness becomes more pronounced on the tongue throughout the drink.

On the heavier side for an dipa with a low carbonation level giving it a slick feeling. Not quite thick, but there is a noticeable viscosity to it. Bitterness lingers on the tongue.

Thick and complex this beer is a sipper for sure. Similar in character to Surly Abrasive.

On tap at Revolution...A dark clear copper pour with some nice tope head, ok retention but good lacing...Good god this smells awesome!!! A floral/grassy mixture on the front, but a great sweet base of caramel with hops, a little alcohol, reminds me of a light sweet dipa...The taste is equally outstanding its grassy almost like a daisy cutter but the sweetness brings so much to the table and makes it so drinkable. Hops are more an accent and present bitterly on the finish. No alcohol at all on nose or taste, insanely drinkable at 9.6%.

This is awesome and you should rush to get some.
