Lightly hazy, golden blonde with on finger of white head, light lace. Smell is full of juicy citrus hops, orange, grapefruit and mango, dry and hoppy with just a bit of biscuity malt. Taste is bitter and hoppy, grapefruit and citrus, earthy with a mid palate malt flavour, orange aftertaste. Light-medium carbonation, medium body. Pretty good but not stellar, had higher expectations based on these two brewers involved.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep gold color with 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, orange peel, caramel, light toasted bread, floral, grass, slight pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/floral hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, orange peel, caramel, light toasted bread, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, light toasted bread, floral, grass, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of juicy citrus/floral hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, lightly creamy/bready, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around good complexity and balance of juicy citrus/floral hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; and very smooth and fairly crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

APPEARANCE: What a lively looking beer? There are thousands of bubbles clinging to most of the surface of the inside of the globe glass. There are so many that they almost entirely block the view through this perfectly clear beer. It has a finger of white head on top made of bubbles of varying sizes. It falls fairly quickly and the lacing is so-so, but overall, this is a gorgeous beer.
SMELL: Piney and resinous with big mango and orange aromas. There is a hint of grass and maybe apricot? It is a wonderful blend of aromas that I only wish were a little more intense.
TASTE: Everything from the nose comes through in the taste as well. The tropical fruit is all there (with a touch of peach too), the citrus includes the orange, but also comes along with some grapefruit and the “green” smells come through with a lot more grass than the smell had. When a touch of semi-sweet malt is thrown into the mix it creates a beautifully complex beer that still has a very clean finish.
MOUTHFEEL: This is one of the easiest 5s I’ve ever given in the mouthfeel category. It’s mostly dry with just the perfect touch of sweet from the malt. The sparkle is solid but not nearly enough to prevent this from going down incredibly easy. The body is on the light side, but significant enough and the overall feel serves the flavor extremely well.
OVERALL: I expected a richer beer than this when I first tasted it, but that is not to say that I was disappointed. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by the supreme drinkability of this beer. I really wish I had a case full of this beer rather than the one bottle I managed to get out here to Colorado. I would drink this beer any time, ever. I really hope they do it again.
