A: Dark, muggy ruby with a minimal beige head. When aggressively poured it reveals nice big boozy spotted big-bubble lacing. Ready to tuck in, no doubt
S: Fantastic. Big dark fruits - bourbon soaked raisins, figs and plums. Huge brown sugar sweetness as well as bourbon caramel. The vanilla is very subtle. There is a very nice organic woodiness to it. Overall has the aroma of a cohesive beer - not necessarily a barelywine and bourbon, more a marriage of the two. There is certainly some heat on it, needs a year or so to balance out.
T: Very, very tasty; however, too boozy right now. Big sweet dark fruits, brown sugar and caramel. There is more vanilla than the aroma, but still not as much as other BABWs. Bordering on cloying sweetness.
P: Thinner than it should be, but it doesn't take away much. Very smooth with soft carbonation - medium bodied.
O: A fantastic bourbon barleywine all around. Very excited to see how it ages, I have high hopes.

A - Reddish mahogany, pinky thickness white tiny bubbled head, dissipates quickly
S - Sweet bourbon, purple grapes, toffee, aged fruits: cherry?
T - initial: sweet, real sweet, bourbon, toffee, chocolate, grapes, cherry. finish: aged fruit, real minor booze
M - just a toucher thinner than some of the exceptional barley wines, frothy, medium body, moderate linger-er
O - Lovely. Bourbon is extraordinary, frothy level was great, aged fruits were outstanding- real complex. only knock maybe be a bit sweet for some palates and I wish it was just a touch thicker, but thats just me.

Appearance - Pours a hazy auburn brown with a khaki-colored half finger head. Fair retention gives way to wisps of suds across the surface, and a thick ring around the glass. Leaves very little in the way of lacing.
Smell - Aroma hits you with a strong boozy bourbon punch, backed by lesser notes of sweet malty character and a moderate oak wood undertone.
Taste - Molasses and caramel notes combine to give this a touch of cola-like sweetness, along with that bourbon barrel influence which brings with it a fair touch of oakiness and light hints of vanilla. Ghostly traces of coconut. The end result gives this a flavor somewhat reminiscent of a Jack and Coke.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with very little carbonation. Thick and syrupy, with a drying finish. Fair heat on the finish that leaves a warmth in the gut.
Overall - Good, but not really my style. A bit too sweet and hot for my tastes. Can't shake the thought that this tastes like a 'hard cola'. Only other BA Barleywine I've had was the FW Sucaba... hard to say that I'd prefer one to the other, and truth is I'd probably rather have a well crafted BW to a BABW any day of the week.

A- ruby with a white head and minimal lacing
S- Carmel, vanilla, oak, bourbon, coconut
T- like nose you get bourbon, nice Carmel, roasted coconut, oak, vanilla, some coco, dark fruits, a good sweetness to this brew but balanced with bitterness. Very good balance of all the flavors.
M- full bodied and creamy with light carbonation.
O- this is a very good brew. The taste is sooo good. I think it would taste even better with age. I really enjoyed this.

Looked a little thin at first. The carbonation was very active and fizzy, which is not typical for barleywine. Otherwise, nice chestnut color and clarity.
Really nice bourbon aromas. Vanilla, wood, carmalized sugar.
It manages to extract the bourbon flavors without being overly-boozy. The wood really pops along with vanilla, toasted coconut, and brown sugar. It's sweet, but not cloying.
It's very smooth for 13%. It's heavy and has a light heat, but as expected.
A very good barrel aged barleywine. This bottle had almost one year on it which may have mellowed it. The flavors are great and captures the essence of barrel aging.
