Our German-style hefeweizen is as traditional as it gets. The real star of the show is the Weihenstephan yeast strain we used to contribute aromas and flavors of banana, clove and lemon zest which hangs in suspension to give this ale its hazy appearance. The combination of all these wonderful ingredients yields a supremely thirst quenching beer that is both silky smooth and effervescent. Don't even think about using a lemon.

16 oz can, filled on 6/14/2022, into a weizen glass. I guess this beer has come out of retirement? Hazy golden color with a rocky white head that lasted a while and left rings of sticky lace. Banana and lemon/orange citrus on the nose. Citrus carries through in the taste and its acidity dominates. Medium bodied, well-carbonated.

Canned 6/14/22; drank 7/10/22 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big eggshell head; strong, frothy lace.
Clove & mild banana notes in the nose.
Soft, medium mouthfeel.
Banana & clove flavors.
A pretty simple Hefe, not much depth here but it's drinkable.

On tap at the brewery’s tap:
The beer appeared a really nice hazy, golden color with nice white head that was well retained. It gave off a nice yeasty aroma and the taste followed, although I expected bigger things, because of the yeast strain that they were using. Perhaps that is my own fault, as that is a lot to live up to. The beer had a really nice feel to it and proper carbonation. Overall, it was good, again, I probably expected too much.

2016-2017: 4
Much creamier feel, more banana esters, great lacing. Easy drinking, more enjoyable than I remember the last time.
2014: 3.79
Draft at the brewery, quick review from notes. Thanks to Thomas for this one!
Cloudy opaque golden orange color, thin compact layer of foam on the surface that leaves behind a collar of lacing as the glass is sipped. Broken skim on the surface eventually.
Aroma is light, some yeasty clove and wheaty grainy notes.
Taste has lightly spicy clove elements from the yeast, and a smooth mouthfeel from the wheat and a sort of easygoing simplicity about it. Body could be a little more full and creamier, but it's easily drinkable. Just a bare bones classic Hefe, and there's nothing wrong with that.
