22oz bottle from the recent release (simultaneous with Very Mad Cow), into a Revolution pint glass.
A: Pours a brownish black with a soft light tan head.
S: Aroma is full of grapefruit, pine, and pineapple hop notes, with a hint of slightly sweet roasted malt behind.
T: Fresh pine and citrus up front, with plenty of bitter chocolate and roasted grain forming a backbone. Bitterness is up there.
M: Medium-bodied with light carbonation. Very creamy.
O: This is a good hoppy stout. The mouthfeel is really where the beer shines, and everything else is pretty good.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/12/2012. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, light char, toast, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/roasted earthiness. Very nice hoppy aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and roasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, light char, toast, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/roasted earthiness. Slight pine/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, pineapple, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, light char, toast, floral, grass, light pine, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and well balanced hop and roasted malt flavors; with nice robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice American stout style. All around good balance and robustness of hop and roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
