2013 vintage.
Dark brownish red with a fairly impressive tan head--an impressive amount of thick carbonation for this three year old brew.
Bourbon and sweet heat exclusively on the nose.
Flavors of sweet, smooth cola, chocolate syrup, and bourbon.
A sticky, moderately frothy body.

2014 bottle.
Absolute gusher upon opening. Didn't look good.
The smell was old coffee, vanilla, and dishsoap.
The taste was sour figs (I know), and a mouthful of pennies.
Feel was actually ok, just a little bit overshadowed by the horror my taste buds were experiencing.
Obviously I got a bad bottle, so I will revisit a newer bottle and adjust accordingly.

this was an extremely solid beer, underrated a bit in my opinion. has a really nice bourbon taste to supplement the base beer. i didnt get much coffee from this beer, but it was extremely chocolatey smooth.

Bottled dated February 27th, 2013 from the brewery. Served in a snifter.
A - Tan foam quickly settles to a collar, wisps, and minimal lace. Very dark brown body with some transparent reddish at the edges.
S - Roasty, oak, whiskey, dark chocolate, coffee with cream, surprisingly boozy for two-plus years of age.
T - Dark chocolate, biscuit, vanilla, oak, coffee, a bit of dark fruit.
M - Zesty carbonation. A bit thin. Very oaky with some warming. Just kind of watery.
D - Held up well and hasn't mellowed all that much. Tastes good but the feel is very weak.
