Pours thick viscous black in color with a thin tan head that retains nicely. Smell has rich decadent aromas of coffee chocolate vanilla. a light roasted aroma overlays hints of bourbon, oak, and more vanilla. Taste follows nose with a large amount of rich chocolate malt and coffee first to hit the palate before loads of sweet vanilla, roasted malt bitterness, bourbon, fig, oak and more vanilla tannins in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium to thick in body with mild small bubble velvety carbonation and a nice balance eternal sticky sweet and bitter charred malt. Nicely balanced beer.

On tap at Rev's brewery

A - A dark porter brown with a creamy mocha colored head

S - Sweet coffee, cream sweetness, light roasted malt and slight vanilla. A bit sweeter nose than regular Eugene

T- Light coffee up front as well as sweet cream. The Eugene porter aspects come through in the finish as I get a slight roasted malt. I felt like the coffee adds a nice new dimension without being overpowering

MF - Light body with medium carbonation. Slight astringency in the finish from the roasted malt

O - Solid beer with the coffee adding a new dimension to an already good porter. It really adds some nice new flavors and complexity to the beer. Overall, the coffee is an accent instead of being overpowering.

This is a pretty thick porter but a porter nonetheless, dark brown with some light coming in at the fringes. The light brown head maintains a solid finger's height for most of the session, never diminishing much. Lacing is quite plentiful, forming some thin rings with a bit of legging, some with some thin webbing between, and good patching beneath the rings.
The bourbon is evident on the nose without overwhelming, letting milk chocolate, vanilla and coffee notes to come through. The heat's not as strong as it is from many bourbon barrel-aged beers, though the smell of bourbon with its sweet, very slightly smoky and gently woody notes prevail. I could use just a little more from the coffee, as it smells rich and fresh, but it's there.
While bourbon is similarly up front in the taste, immediately and the entire way through is a taste of rich freshly ground coffee. Sweetness of milk chocolate, vanilla and caramel complement. Alcoholic warmth is certainly there, but kept well in check.
There seem to be some woody tannins, which add a bit of dryness to the rich, full-ish body and the sweetness. The thickness is tamed by the alcohol, so it's not cloying. It has a little crispness up front with the focus appropriately turned to smoothness.

On tap:
A: Very dark brown with a minimal beige head. Does not look like a beer that spent a ton of time in a barrel, still had some spotty lacing.

S: Rich, aggressively bitter fresh dark roast coffee is most noticable. Solid smooth bourbon defined by vanilla, oak and slight head.

T: Smilar to the nose but slightly better balance. The coffee is still very dominating, the bourbon notes create a nice 'icing'

P: Feels like a creamier, slightly bigger porter. Carbonation a bit too active, but not annoying

O: The coffee and bourbon worked well together, however coffee won. Not as smooth as Peruvian Morning, but still damn delicious and not worse by any means.

Bought a bottle at the brew pub the very same day, but a very different beer... just not right. A mess, watery coffee and some chocolate, barely any bourbon at all. A vinegar-y twinge. I hope it was just my bottle and not the rest. Very, very, very glad I tried a snifter on tap because I would have had a terrible image of a great beer.
