Bottle thanks to scalzo!

Ruby gold body with some nice beading, produces a finger+ off-white head that leaves behind layers of lace.

Nose is tropical and citric... dense... bittersweet...

Oranges and peaches, tame bitterness, semisweet. I like. This one is gonna go down quick. (280 characters)

22oz, Bottled 4/2/13
Tulip glass

A: Crystal clear golden yellow/orange color. Full finger of fluffy bright white head. Good carbonation. Sticky lacing bits on the glass.

S: Big fruity hop nose. Big grapefruit. Overripe peach. Mango. Light malt bill.

T: Nice sharp astringency bitterness on tip of tongue. Taste those nice fruity hops: peach and mango and grapefruit. Nice balance of sweet malts. Dry finish.

M: Medium bodied. (429 characters)

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a New Belgium globe glass.

A- pours a dark caramel with a 2 finger off-white head. Trails, blotches and big swaths of lacing remain on the glass.

S- caramel, honey, big juicy citrus (pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit) and some light spice and pine.

T- caramel, nice grapefruit and melon citrus notes, light toast, light spice, bitter citrus rind and pine.

M- medium body and carbonation. Slick with some creaminess.

O- very nice ipa. I would drink this all day if they canned it like regular AH, but $8/bomber for a ipa is steep to drink often. (584 characters)

Just saying this upfront, I hope this is a yearly release. This review would be difficult to complete without comparing to anti hero.

A - the appearance is a golden color much lighter than the anti hero.

S - smells lighter in the citrus fruits. Picking up lemon, possibly a floral accent. The pine is very prevelant as well

T - Tongue follows the scent. Finished all 22 ounces of this bomber and the further I got into the beer the more I liked it. A citrus that doesn't overpower you like so many IPA/DIPA brews lately. This is a perfect spring time brew. Juicy and Refreshing is how I would describe it.

M - An oily beer that sits on your palate even an hour after I have finished the bottle. Leaves me wanting more.

Overall, I am sad I only got 1. I am not knowledgable on galaxy hops, but if they are readily available, I pray Revolution does their best to remake this beer in 2014. It is truly a perfect spring IPA. I love it. Revolution has yet to make a disappointing ale, iyam. (993 characters)

On-tap at the Kedzie taproom. Served in a plastic cup at first, then a pint glass.

A - Nice creamy foam settles to a thick cap and plenty of splotchy lacing. Lightly hazed golden body with plenty of visible bubbles racing upwards throughout the glass.

S - Nice mix of tropical fruits, citrus zest, and some leafy and herbal notes. A balanced icing sugar malt backbone supports the plethora of hop flavors.

T - The taste is similar, with a hefty dose of tropical fruits, citrus rind, and some balancing notes of pine, and bitter, green, leafy herbs. Supported by a sugar malt backdrop, which yields to moderate bitterness in the finish.

M - Smooth, medium body, chewy texture, pleasant carbonation, with a nice oily and resinous finish. No perceptible booze. I could stand a tad more dryness myself.

D - Another nice IPA from Revolution, although perhaps not quite as drinkable as Fistcal Cliff as the bitterness gets a bit palate-numbing. Still, fairly easy to drink considering Galaxy's high dose of alpha acids. (1,018 characters)

A: Clear gold with a foamy white head. Looks very nice, nothing special.

S: Galaxy! Incredibly fresh, crisp and dry. There is a tangerine, orange, mango pungency - like a tang. Slighter sugared grapefruit peel. A vinous chardonnay grape dryness in the background as well as slight strawberry sweetness.

T: Incedibly crisp and refreshing, vinous dryness. The nose is super sweet and I am glad that taste isn't. Hit first with a slap of bitterness, then a galactic crisp burst of tropical fruits, finishes dry. Not very complex, but very tasty

P: Light/medium body - feels like a good IPA. Very refreshing

O: A great variant on an already great IPA. Love NZ hops (664 characters)

Appearance: Pours a beautiful, clear golden yellow with two fingers of frothy off-white foam.

Smell: Lots of resiny pine with light notes of citrus fruits and pineapple.

Taste: Follows the nose with big, bitter pine and acidic citrus (mainly grapefruit and orange) with a faint caramel malt backbone.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish.

Overall, this was a pretty good IPA but nothing spectacular. It's a very bitter beer that lacks complexity but it's tasty nonetheless and surprisingly smooth. (520 characters)

Thanks to DrWalterWhite for the pre-release share via trade!

A: crystal clear deep orange with the expected frothy white head. Beautiful.

S: awesome aroma. strong citrus/pine hop aroma that doesn't stop.

T: The Galaxy and Zythos hops combine to create a strong punch of flavor. Tropical fruit sweetness with pine and citrus that ends with a long-lasting strong bitter finish.

M: Nice prickly carbonation which finishes very dry.

O: A great IPA. I loved drinking this beer. The bitterness is strong, but doesn't get to be too much as you drink, nor does it take away from the flavors as you work through your pour. Loved the real crisp, dry finish. (653 characters)
