Enjoyed this on tap at Revolution Brewery in a 5 oz sample glass.

A - Amber, zero lacing, small ring of head around of rim

S - Carmel, banana, bread, earthy, spices

T - moderately sweet carmel, banana, spices

M - low frothy, medium body

O - Dull, moderately sweet carmel, spice and banana level was nice but needs more flavor and thickness. certainly not my favorite dubbel. wouldn't recommend it.

On-tap at the Kedzie Tap Room. 5oz taster glass.

A - Light tan foam settles to a collar and wisps. Hazed burnt caramel brown body with some translucency to it.

S - Loads of banana easters, bread, chocolate, caramel, light and mildly spicy Belgian yeast, some raisin and prune, and a very mild touch of candi sugar. Verging on brown ale in some ways. Takes a while to warm up.

T - The taste is a bit more 'Belgian' with a hefty dose of banana bread, cloves, and lightly phenolic yeast with mild chocolate, caramel, and nuttiness in the periphery. A tad bitter in the finish, which is a surprise. Candi sugar is again understated.

M - Bready and moderately toasty texture, medium body, with soft, moderate carbonation. Mild residual stickiness and no alcohol presence.

D - I had no problem with 5oz and could easily have handled a 12oz snifter. Solid Belgian brew, with some American sensibilities mixed in. Adds some variety to the Revolution draft lineup, but probably not something I'd order again.
