A German-style pilsner that gets its name from the Emma Lazarus poem, "The New Colossus," where she describes her personal interpretation of the Statue of Liberty as the "Mother of Exiles." This beer has a spicy, slightly grassy flavor that kicks in mid-palate and continues on to a crisp, bitter finish. Being a lager-style beer, we gave it an extended cold aging period, which adds to its clean drinkability.

Spotted this new one (for me) on the way home today, had to give it a try.
No discernible best-by date on the 22 ounce bottle. 5.5 ABV on the bottle: notice sent.
A -- Clear, pale gold with a sudsy white head that settles quickly to a bubbly cap. Only complaint is the weak head.
S -- Mild spicy noble hops up front, some light DMS and light yeasty breadiness.
T -- Spicy hops up front followed by a smooth, bready-crackery maltiness, some mellow citrus and finishing with a great spicy bitterness. The bitterness lingers through the aftertaste, but mellows out to soft breadiness.
M -- Crisp to soft mouthfeel and a medium-light body.
O -- A very nice take on the style, crafted very well: crisp, smooth, refreshing -- nothing in-your-face, but very flavorful use of good malts and hops to-style.

I tried this at the brewpub. $5 for a pint glass.
The beer poured a dark gold color with a 2-finger white head that lasted several minutes. Lots of excellent lacing.
The beer had a really nice mild noble hop aroma to it.
Good balance between sweet bready malt and grassy hops. There was also a touch of orange flavor to this as well as a touch of spiciness. A nice mild bitterness lasted throughout.
Light and crisp mouthfeel. Very refreshing with medium carbonation.
This is one of the best German style pilners I've had.
