This recipe was given its name as it was formulated and brewed while our head pub brewer was working with a fractured ankle.

Fermented with our house Wit yeast, and liberally hopped (and dry-hopped) with American varieties. Its resultant aroma has clove spiciness from the yeast, with notes of lemon and cedarwood. A blend of seven malts and grains gives a full-bodied presence up front with hints of caramel, and the hop flavor rides out the palate. It finishes dry, with a medium hop bitterness.

On-tap at the Revolution tap room. Served in a 5oz taster glass.

A - White foam settles to a collar, wisps, and minimal lace. Transparent amber-brown body.

S - Extremely hoppy, with tons of fresh citrus and lemon; Sorachi Ace in spades here. I don't actually get much of a Belgian yeast character, and the malt character is quite bready, with low sweetness. Not sure I would have guessed Belgian as this was more like a dark IPA or bready brown ale.

T - The taste has a bit more Belgian yeast character, adding a bit of spice and phenols to the bready malt backbone. Hops are more restrained flavor-wise, imparting mild citrus and lemon, as well as some fairly intense bitterness.

M - Dry, medium body, with good heft for the listed 5.7%. No alcohol, pleasant carbonation, and a crisp, clean, finish.

D - Better than I anticipated. I like the potent hop aroma, and the bitterness, while present, has enough restraint to avoid palate fatigue. I'd be willing to drink a pint of this one, but it'd be my third or fourth option with Revolution's current tap list.

Served on tap in pint glass. Appearance is brownish red with nice clarity. Heavy lacig left and decent retention. Nose features Belgian spicy yeast married with pungent hop profile. Kinda Belgian IPA-ish with an emphasis on the IPA side, moderate level of bitterness with waves of herbal hops. The taste has less Belgian yeast than the nose, tons of hops. Moderate bitterness level, drinks like an ipa. Mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Overall, unique and worth a try.
