Went here for lunch with a group of four on the holiday weekday following the 4th of July. At 1 the place was popular, but not packed, and we had our choice of tables. When we left that choice was diminished.

The service was prompt and knowledgeable, which was great because the beers were slightly out of the average range (no problem for a BA, but could be for a every day person). The one drawback to the service was the guy was a little full of himself/his establishment which wasn't impressive. The wife and I got a flight of all 7 beers they had on at the moment for $2 each sample (one was $3), because rather than having a set price for a flight of a set number of beers, they just have a mini-size glass so you can be flexible in your flight. It was worth it no doubt.

The beer came tasting great in clean glasses, attributed to a device I feel is worth mentioning. At the tap tower is a little jet-cone device that the bartender quick pushes the glass down onto (open side down) and it shoots a quick rinse of water into the glass, removing any left over detergent or dust that light have collected.

All the beer was good, the favorite being the Working Man Mild, the least favorite being the Coup de Grace ("It tastes and smells like meat").

The food was awesome, we had collectively two pizzas, burger and fries, all of which were impressive and a good potion size.

I'll mention they also had an impressive Whisk(e)y selection as well as gins, vodka's, tequilas and rums, and the bartender was willing to chit-chat while he wasn't busy.

Overall, this is a place I really look forward to going back to.

Good food, good beer. Their taproom at the brewery is excellent too. One of my favorite brew pubs/breweries in the Chicago area. Getting a lot better at their barrel program.

Delicious food, great setup and layout. Always enjoy stopping into my neighbor hood brewery for some fresh beer on tap and irresistible food. Definitely a must for anyone to check out.

Long, long ago when Revolution was an infant and I was middle-aged,
I talked my wife, a wine-drinker, into going to eat where, she calls, “your people” eat. (She means that kiddingly, maybe even lovingly… it’s just that my wife is a confirmed princess who, some think, married someone who remained something of a frog.) At any rate, she went into Revolution open-minded and samples my beer. (She is warming up to this brewpub stuff.)

While the evening was going better than expected, I’m actually not thrilled with my flight. It was a summer day; so, I got IPAs which I rarely drank because I can be somewhat hop-adverse… and I love my malts. After the hoppy flight, I got a food-friendly flight that had two real Belgians which my wife really liked. Unfortunately, the food was less than average. Never went back. But, beer won the day.
A decade later, I've learned to approach new brewers with a more open-mind that they are trying their best to learn how to blend malts better. And my wife? Much to her credit, she increasingly samples my ales (sometimes she won’t even have a glass of wine with dinner.)

Moral of the fable: Things change for the better with age … and an open-mind. Make sure they work together harmoniously.

Fun beer bar and brewery to visit. They always have a good selection of their beers available and are pretty knowledgeable. Only downside is the location which can be a bit tough to get to.

Came here for lunch on 1/12/16 (prelude to Haymarket Anniversary Party). Great spot! In addition to 16 (one on cask) of their own beers on tap, they had lots of other local brews available (including Pipeworks Lizard King). And the menu listed all the other competitors brews first, which takes balls & earns my respect. The food was INCREDIBLE, and the service sublime. Definitely a must stop when in Chicago!

Cool spot...big, loud with rock music, fun to hang out at overall. The quality of their beer was decent, but they had some cool guest taps including a GI stout I never had before that they didn't even have on at GI Clybourn. Food was above average bar food, would definitely go back.
