They've started selling this one all across music venues in London.. Ouch its pretty bad in many ways. Horrible metallic after taste, meaty taste during the pint quite a thick lager as lagers go, tastes a bit like an off Stella. Bad, bad, bad. Better alternatives.

Clear yellow pour with a large white head that eventually fizzles away to a thin layer, leaving a bit of soapy lacing on the glass. Pretty typical adjunct aroma, grains, corn, something resembling light hops. Taste is bland with stale malts, corn, corn sugar, light hops with a lingering bitter skunkiness. Light body, and not very pleasing to any of the senses. There's really no need for beer like this ever.

Yucky nose and flavor. When poured, this beer had a medium sized white head with fine-small bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was clear and uncarbonated with a yellow hue.The nose was malty, hoppy and skunky. The flavor was just yucky tasting. There was no lacing with this beer.

The salesman at the local high volume beer store recommended this as something different. It poured with a small head which dissipated to a small necklace. The smell was mild with a light green tea colour. The taste was, well skunky, reminiscent of the beers of my youth that I would hide outside for a couple of days and drink warm. Not recommended.

12oz bottle from Trader's Joe. Pours light straw hue with a thick, long lasting, white head and soda like carbonation. Nose is of medicine and grain. Light, crisp body. Taste is sweet corn and lemonade. Short, light finish. Thanks god I bought only one bottle.

Pale to the point of being almost clear, slight yellow hue, lazy mild carbonation level. Fizzy white head never to be seen shortly after the pour. Needless to say not very inviting even for a macro lager.

Tasted exactly like the smell which is a super sweet corn adjunct type lager. Vegetables make a statement in the finish. Finishes wet and fairly clean.

Not for me fellas! I've got 3 more of these and I've never put a beer down the drain and this won't be my first. Drinkable but not worth approaching again.

Ya this was one of the worst beers I've had in while, and yet its priced as a premium beer here in Canada...wtf mate

Colour is light straw yellow with a decent head. No lacing of the glass.

The smell is skunk's ass 100%. Corn smell, wet cardboard

Tastes sour like rotten eggs, grainy, I can detect hops to tell that it is indeed a beer

Watery, not carbonated enough, tastes flat.

Sorry to shit all over this beer but I paid $12 for 6 and could only drink 2

Pours a pale yellow gold. Half inch frothy head. Very fizzy. Smell is sour, yet sweet. Quite bitter nose.

Taste is sweet malt, lightly bitter, sour finish with metallic flavors mixed in. All this is quite unpleasant. A crisp and clean finish. I usually drink this out of a bottle if I find myself in FL with no better option and that's the way it should remain. If you can actually smell and taste it in the glass, it's brutal. No thanks.

Luckily I had this cold, as the consensus seems to be you have to. Definitely tastes better than it smells, because it was way too skunky smelling for my tastes. Rather smooth but unremarkable in every way. Definitely more for the novelty than anything else.

As of 2012 this beer is no longer brewed in Jamaica for the US market. Its brewed right here in my home state of PA in Latrobe at the former Rolling Rock Brewery by City Brewing.

As a result it no longer tastes like it used to and like so many other brands that are now brewed here like Bass its tastes like crap. While the formula maybe the same the water they use is certainly different and that has a great impact on the taste.

Taste: This tasted like a watered down light lager, their was a hint of malt flavor In the hops department I could detect none.

Mouthfeel: Felt like a typical light lager it was flowing fast with a medium low amount of carbonation.

Smell: It smelled skunky to me

Overal: Used to be good now its not

hm, well. This is a unique brew, even among light lagers. Very very spritzy, and very very light in flavour - so much so that it tastes like soda water with a tablespoon of beer in it. No hop flavour or bitterness to speak of. Very slight sweet malt aroma. You can almost taste malt, not sure if it's real or just psychological because I know it's supposedly in there. Taste is mostly metallic carbonation. Mouthfeel is prickly, and watery. Drinkability would be OK if it weren't for the abrasive carbonation - taste is about on par with bottled water - so, very clean and refreshing.

Terrible beer. Get yourself a cheap domestic lager instead - it'll cost less, and taste better.

This brew pours a very large head of fine creamy bubbles and a straw yellow body. It has a very mild malt-hop aroma and starts off with a slightly fizzy bite with a weak and watery mild malt-hop rice beer flavored finish. Lacking in character and depth, this is another brew that I would not recommend.

A lightly hazy gold color with a thick white head. There is a sweetish grainy aroma, basically a typical cheap lager type aroma. It is sweet up front and it begins with a crisp ending in the finish, but then gets a bit rancid; a bit of buttery diacetyl here. This one is slightly offensive for a macro-swill, though not overly so. A very lackluster beer, and the rancid finish does not help.

12 oz. bottle poured into a 16 oz. pint (tulip) glass, (September 9, 2009).

Eyes: Light straw gold color with a quickly forming head of large bubbles that dissipates just a quickly. Lacing?

Nose: Skunky up front, corny. Some malty sweetness.

Tongue: No real flavor profile other than the basics for a adjunct. A suggestion of some decent grassy hops, and a suggestion of sweet malt, finished poorly however.

Mouth: Cold, fairly clean, very light.

Libation: What can I say? It's neither complex nor interesting, and to be any good is must be drunk very, very cold. I know this is an adjunct lager and people tend to lower standards in this category, but there are good adjuncts out there and this just isn't one of them.

I poured this into a generic pint glass. The appearance isn't too bad, there's a good amount of lacing, the body is gold coloured, and head retention is OK. However, I was not impressed by the smell, it smelt like, nothing at all. The taste was marginally better, could at least detect some cereal. Mouthfeel was water and drinkability was YUK!!!!

There are some decent AALs out there, and while this is better than BMC, you should prob avoid.

This beer poured a white medium head that quickly disappeared. The body of this beer was very light. The smell was a blend of yeast, cereal grains, and maybe rice. This beer really didn't have a taste, maybe carbonated sour water. This beer is really drinkable, like water is. I can't believe Red Stripe was brewing this beer for 75 years (1935). This beer has Anheuse, Busch, Miller, and Coors presences all over it. If you like commercial American beers you will love it, but you get to pay import prices for it. If you like Red Stripe save your money, pour some Bud Light into Red Stripe bottles.

I swear I have reviewed this beer before but yet it says I don't, anyway...I've had this several times from the bottle, pours a light strawish yellow, actually has pretty good carbonation, but is very watery...The aroma is skunky mostly with a little hops...The taste is mostly skunky but has a terrible harsh bitter finish. This is one of my least favorite adjuncts because of the finish. Would rather have a BMC.

11.2 oz iconic bottle poured into pint glass

A--Dark yellow. Nearly 100% transparent. two fingers of foamy white head. lots of lacing

S--Bread and biscut malts with a little bit of floral hops. overall a bit sour/skunky

T--Sour, slightly sweet, bitter, water. not as offensive as the smell, but completely uninteresting

M--light, very little carbonation

D--if you can drink water, you can drink this. thank god for the marketing team, because they would not sell any of this stuff without their efforts.

Man I used to drink alot of this beer. Why? Red Stripe was cheap and in my humble uneducated opionion simply better than Bud and its allias Miller and Coors. The beer was served cold into my trusty Arrogant Bastard pint glass. Man I have abused the Bastard Pint glass lately.

Apperance: The beer pours a clear golden coloration. Lazy carbonation rises to the top of my glass. A thin white head floats on top of the beer.

Smell: Sweet vaguely caramel aroma rises from the glass. Not alot going on here.

Taste: Again the beer doesnt have alot going on. Sweet caramel corn sort of flavors. Nothing really balancing this one out.

Mouthfeel / Drinkability: The body is light. The carbonation is lazy. Perhaps its stoned on on real rhythm and pulse of Jamaica? You know what I am talking about the Ganja / Pot. Honesty the body and the mouthfeel are limp. This beer needs some Viagra. For me this beer is only ok if you dont have anything else to drink.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a bright yellow color and a clear texture. A surprising amount head for a terrible beer.

S: A little grainy, a little hoppy, a little skunky. And that's it.

T: Like the smell, the taste was skunky. Some hops and grains, but mainly this is a watery, tasteless mess.

M: Not a whole lot of carbonation and a slick finish. A bit flat-bodied.

D: I got this beer because I hadn't had it since college and couldn't remember what it tasted like. It should've stayed that way. This is a totally uninteresting piece of brewing. Not bad for beer flavored water, though.

A. Yellow gold.Light head. No real retention.
S. Sour. A bit astringent. Faint detection of hops.
T. Still sour. Kind of metallic undertones. Some grains mostly corn taste.
M. Heavy carbonation feel. Difficult to get down.
D. Not an easy beer to drink. I just had this with my neighbor and I finished as much as possible just to be polite.

Pours your average "beer" color with no visual eye candy to even note on. Faint bready malt aroma with a light hoppy floweriness and a seriously faulty cooked corn and sulfur aroma. Some mineral qualities in the water show through, but overall, pretty nasty smelling. Whoa, it gets worse. Dimethyl sulfide plays a significant role in this beer's flavor profile. A bit of diacetyl, too, shameful in a lager. There's a moderate maltiness, a light floweriness in the finish and it's carbonated; that's about as positive of a spin as I can put on this beer. If I had a dog, I'm not sure I would even give this beer to it. Sampled about 4 oz., and then Drainsville.

Another beer that I had guzzeled frequently in my misspent youth which I have neglected to review because it entailed actually buying and consuming a fresh one to generate the review...shows how much I was driven to do this. ;-)

Red stripe was the "other" party beer when Foster’s was making the rounds...both considered "imports" and thus "better" than domestic.

Pours a disappointing piss-pale yellow...a 1 finger cap that disappears quickly..poor lacing. Sickley sweet grain husk--vegetal aroma.. funky-skunky pilsner hop detected in the smell. Watery mouth feel, virtually no malty tastes just sweet rice or corn dextrin tastes with a very light hop bittering...smooth, sweet, watery, fast finish....what have we here?...a macro brewed sweet, watery thin shunky weak pilsner from off shore. I’ve had worse but I’ve had a lot better...even Banks beats this corn-rice-sugar cane swill...this will rot your teeth..too damn sweet even for a mega pils.

American Adjunct Lager isn't my cup of tea, but I'll try to be as objective as possible:

A: It pours straw coloured with an even white head that stays for a surprisingly long time. The head leaves some residues on the glass after it sets.

S: Not much here, but I can sence some malt and some citrus.

T: This beer doesn't have any tastes that are really strong or dominant, but it's dry with some malt. Some floral notes is there as well.
The aftertaste is very short.

M: Like any adjunct lager it's thin but also dry.

D: Well, I hope my objectivety wasn't to coloured by the fact that I'm no friend of adjunct lagers; but this is a beer that doesn't have strong smells or tastes - if your into this kind of beer I think you will like the head and the fact that you'll get really refreshed by this beer.
