Served in a pint glass
Clear pale gold with a finger thick tight bubbled and bright white head that quickly settles. Definitive adjunct smell with little in the way of hops or malt. The taste too is pretty typical of an adjunct lager. There isnt much there but it is pretty crisp and relatively clean with only a bit of a skunky, vegetable like flavor. There is a bit of hop bitterness in the finish and the carbonation is medium to high. Along with the bitterness at the end there is a touch of sweetness. Overall it's a bit better than average for the style in that it is a bit more well rounded than the typical adjunct lager and it seems to offer a bit more to the senses.

11 oz stubby bottle into a Pilsener glass

A - Looks like average yellow beer, soapy head, almost no activity

S - A bit chemically and earthy

T - Watery sweet malts, little bit of even sweeter hops, nothing bitter

M - Smooth, light and refreshing, very little carbonation

O - Nothing I'd reach for, pretty bland

poured from the bottle into a pilsner glass

A - Pours a perfectly transparent light straw with a modest amount of small bubbles rising to the two-finger, white head.

S - Light grain notes. Fairly clean compared to the macros which scream adjuncts.

T - Ahh, the nose tricked me. Although showing mostly light grains up front as expected, cereal adjuncts begin to poke through the moderately hopped body. A nice bit of hop bitterness as the beer passes over the back of the tongue followed by a fairly clean finish with just a hint of cereal grain.

M - Light with plenty of carbonation. Compliments the flavor well enough, but comes off a tad seltzer watery.

Bought this to take to a party to keep guests from spilling my nice Extra Stout all over the dance floor (which happened last time), but also avoid bring something that screams cheap. On sale for $6.50 a six and from exotic Jamaica, this fit the bill wonderfully. One could certainly do worse than Red Stipe, but plenty of other cheaper beers can be had for less - PBR and Labatt Blue spring to mind.

11.2oz stubby bottle with no date

Appearance is light gold with few rising bubbles and a small head with decent lacing. Smell is lacking something, it's just skunky sweet corn and rice. Taste is the same: crisp sweet corn and rice, with a grain aftertaste. There is a hint of spice or pepper, along with some tropical fruit. No hops detectable whatsoever. Medium-low body and carbonation.

Maybe a small step up from bmc, but not by much.

Thin head on a clear straw colored body. Aroma is very mild malt and a little musty. Flavor is mild as well with again mostly light malt and little else. Highly carbonated, light body and refreshing. This is a plain beer overall and not special but not offensive either.
