I've edited this review because I just had another bottle of Dragon Stout. It was even better than I recalled

Since I do not drink coffee and I don't like the stench of coffee, I avoid stouts. I drank this at a beer tasting and am very glad that I did.

A - Dark with a nice tan head that disappeared too quickly.

S - Beautiful aroma, without the chocolate and coffee overtones of most stouts

T - Deep fruit flavor with a smooth alcohol finish and not harsh aftertaste

M - Smooth with a great malt backbone

D - Excellent - I will be getting more!

This is quite simply my favorite beer, but as of recently I can no longer find it in Kentucky. Any further information of where I could purchase this would be appreciated.

I have been searching for this beer for three years since I first tried it at a friend's party.
My search continues as I long for it's sweet intoxicating aroma and exotic buzz.
This is the beer that took my stout cherry!
If you are lucky enough to land your undeserving paws on some,
sit back and be prepared for a total mouth orgasm.

Picked this up at Turnpike Wine & Spirits in Oak Ridge, TN as part of a pick and choose assortment of porters and stouts. Didn't know anything about it but took notice of it the minute I poured it in the glass. The appearance was excellent and the head was perfect. The taste was most excellent, chocolate and coffee present. The creamy texture was the icing on the cake. This is the best stout I've ever had.

Nice creamy but, short lasting head. A deep rich chocolate malt taste Crisper aftertaste than most Stouts. Since this is a foreign export Stout, I'd be curious to know what the Jamaicans keep for themselves! ( A Guinness for example tastes much different in Dublin than in New York; I know from experience!)Surprisingly smooth for 15 Proof! (I'm old school)(In fact, I'll explain for those who don't know... Proof is an older measure of ethanol in a beverage. In the U.S. Proof = 2x the ABV of a liquid.)

330ml brown bottle poured into a Delirium Tremens snifter.

A. Dark brown beer topped by a pillowy, bubbly yellow-brown mustard coloured head.

S. Black malt, slight coffee notes, pralines, hints of liquorice, caramelised sugar.

T. Coffee, jammy taste, juicy figs. Leaves a nice smoky and slightly bitter finish.

M. Medium.

D. A thoroughly enjoyable Caribbean stout. I particularly enjoyed the finish.

Dark rich color but a smell that is surprisingly sweet.

Taste is smooth and the sugar comes through here. Light on carbonation. I have served this almost as a desert, well certainly with desert (chocolate / cherry). This is almost a port replacement.

284ml bottle poured into a tulip, marked BBE MAR 10. Thanks to BlackHaddock for this unexpected treat.

A = Very dark mahogany, almost black, very small dark yellow head that quickly settles into nothing more than a solid ring of small bubbles around the edge of the glass.

S & T = Interesting light notes of cocoa, some almost plasticine smells, some interesting sour yeasty smells. Smooth feel really carries the sweetness of the flavors well, this is not a pure chocolate bomb, but there is a definite flavor of chocolate, together with light sourness of a sweet-sour candy

M = Very smooth and luscious feel with medium-heavy body, foam like carbonation but very slight, not overwhelming, great mouthcoating.

D = Goes down very easily.

Got this at the LCBO in my town.

Bottle to a pint glass.

APPEARANCE: Pours thick black and very opaque. Minimal head collects around the edges of the glass and a slight wisp forms on top. No carbonation evident. The wisp remains the whole way down, but essentially no lacing. Pretty average for the style.

SMELL: A strong nose of roasted barley malt, dark fruits and spicy alcohol. Some dark black licorice in the background as well. Very pleasant.

TASTE: Dark fruits up front, dates and semi-sweet dark grapes. Some black licorice and spicy alcohol, but it's well hidden. Roasted barley malt is there and a nice sweet grape finish as well. Mild dark fruit aftertaste is very nice and appropriate. Complex and interesting.

PALATE: Medium body with medium carbonation. Goes down smooth with no bite and finishes slightly sticky.

OVERALL: This one was a surprise. It was very solid, very enjoyable, and I would definitely have another. Like other export stouts this one would not be a good choice for a session, but I'd definitely have a few. It was very enjoyable right to the last drop.
