Well it's that time of year again! Poured from a bomber, into my Deschutes tulip glass...
A - Pours darker than cola brown, but not completely black. A thin, 1/2 finger of tan head disipates rather quickly, leaving a few spots of lacing. This being the 3rd Firestone Ann brew I've had, it falls in suit with the previous years.
S - Surprisingly not over powered with bourbon, but a beautiful blend of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak, rum soaked raisins and some spice.
T/M - Wow, upon the first sip really, I can tell right away that this one really evolves! Dark bittersweet chcoclate, evolves into a mellow vanilla that then bites your taste buds with a slight hop bitterness. Then comes the wave of oakey, bourboney goodness. Oh, the oaked bourbon aftertaste hangs around after the sip, and is sooo good. Medium/heavy syrupy mouthfeel.
O - Another amazing anniversary ale! It's complex, deep, and just overall really good. It is kinda hot right now, but it is 13.3%. Drinks like a good BA barleywine. Glad I got a few of these, cause I can only imagine what a little bit of time is gonna do for this one. If you can get it, try it. If you can't, trade for it. Def worth seeking! I'm gonna stop typing, and get to enjoying. Cheers!

22oz bomber poured into Stone Snifter.
Pours a deep dark brown color, not quite black. Aroma is insanely complex - there is almost too much going on, but it smells declicious. Sugary barley wine aroma comes through along with vanilla, bourbon, coconut, caramel and some cookie dough mixed with candied cherries and dates. Taste is similar to the nose with a hint of more chocolate and is incredible! I am sincerely impressed with this release and look forward to cracking open the other bottle that will be aging for awhile.
