Nose is somewhat subdued....there's some tropical hop notes present...a little caramel malt sweetness. I know from other "session IPA's" that this style doesn't have to mean low on flavor...so I'm hoping for the best!
Flavor has some tropical notes on it that I would say are reminicent of what I'd generally expect in a pale ale. Maybe a little more than some...but not much. Then we have some mild caramel sweetness...a little earthiness there....and a note of cracker as well. Really no aftertaste lingering at all.
Honestly, calling it a "summer IPA" to me just seems a bit odd considering how much it actually seems like a pale ale to me. That said, it's pretty delicious and goes down well. So I enjoy drinking it, no question, I'm just iffy on the style.
