The 100% Oak DBA looks similar to its "regular" counterpart: it has a nice amber color and a slighty off-white head. The aroma is strongly of fresh oak...nice but almost too much. The taste follows the aroma. Lots of oak. This beer is so freaking good in it's original form it's hard for this one to be better, but it's such a nice experience to get to drink this beer unblended. Truly a unique and memorable experience.

I had this on draft 12/20/23 @ the Beer Temple.
Semi-opaque dark orange appearance.
Nice eggshell-colored head; minimal lacing remained.
Raw oats & honey notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Raw oats, honey and, strangely, a little booze heat on the palate.
An earthy treat.

Grunt fill from Alberstons. Pours out a hazy amber with small fluffy head. Malt dominates the aroma, and kicks it up a notch in taste. Toffee, caramel, very mild bitterness. Unfiltered characteristics a nice addition.

On tap at Firestone Walker Brewing Co
A: Pours honey amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Fruity floral notes, toasty biscuity malt, oak, a hint of citrus zest, a touch grassy, and a little toffee sweetness.
T: Toasty biscuity malt, floral notes, light citrus zest, lemon and tangerine, a touch of oak, grassy earthy tones, and a little toffee sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderately lively carbonation.
O: Not sure how I have logged this one yet. Cool OG beer that keeps it's special charm by being exclusive to the taproom.

On draft at Firestone Walker Paso Robles. Surprisingly, at least to me, I prefer the filtered version, it is a bit rough around the edges in terms of both malt and hops which clash with each other more; the filtered version seems to remove that and allows for a more enjoyable experience.

This is always the beer I get when I come here on my way through town and it is a better, more charcterful version of their standard DBA, an excellent English Pale Ale that is great with their steak.
Copper with medium, pale tan head that shrinks steadily to a thin, permanent top. It leaves weak hints of lace. It is a touch hazy unlike the bottled DBA.
Aroma is flowery, slightly earthy with a lot of breadcrust along with hints of caramel and citrus, resin, yeast.
Taste is mild caramelly malt, bread, light citrus leaning slightly towards citrus, hints of pine, earthy leaves wet yeasty dough, and light fruitiness. Excellent with good balance, and definite English qualities that I like. The sweetness and bitterness both last nicely, it also goes well with food and is very drinkable.
