Stub-nosed bottle into a pint glass.
Light copper hue with a relatively sticky white head. Exhibits modest lacing, with the head dying down to a enduring membrane atop the beer. Pretty standard for the style.
Aromas off the nose are sharp and poignant; the pine hop citrus really steals the show. Abundance of grapefruit with a herbal and grassy nature.
Nose isn't playing any tricks here, with all the aromas present in the nose being released on my taste buds. Lasting bitterness throughout with a very well balanced caramel malt backbone. Slight alcohol presence, although it does hide it's 7.5% reasonably well.
Medium to heavy bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Dry finish with plenty of carbonation. Not quite as easy drinking as some IPA's I've encountered, but then again it shouldn't be considering it ranks a bit higher in the ABV department.
Overall, my first beer from Firestone Walker and it didn't disappoint. Nice IPA for the price point, bordering on a double. Well done.

Poured from the bomber into a nonic pint.
Lovely fokkin' pour, that is. Copper color with with a nice lasting head that slowly dissipates and leaves some trailing lacing.
The aroma is not tops but will do: citrus and spice, a little grass and a bit of bread and cracker as well.
The taste is big an bold. Orange, candied fruit are first to hit my palate followed by a slow, building, spicy bitter note that finishes dry and lasts forever. That aftertaste, phew, I'm gobsmacked.
I love the mouthfeel on this brew, medium smooth but with a tingly, bubbly bit that you can feel on the lips and tongue. Outstanding.
Overall, really glad i got to try this beer and wish it was available to me on a regular basis. An outstanding IPA.
