Union Jack is an absolute classic and has become a regular in my fridge. Quite often it is an IPA I use to introduce people to the style as it isn't too harsh of a hop bomb but still full of flavor.

Appearance: A nice copper like orange with a powdery white head.

Smell: A fruity blend of grapefruit, tangerines and other citrus notes.

Taste: Citrus! Grapefruit, tangerine, some pine notes...but citrus dominating the flavor palate with a very mild malty backbone. You can also taste the alcohol but it's not overpowering, just a slight hint in the background.

Mouthfeel: very clean, coats the tongue but doesn't linger beyond it's welcome.

Overall: As I mentioned above its a classic. On tap it is absolutely delicious as is the case with bottles if you get it fresh. There are a few times I've bought a 6pack where you could instantly taste it has been sitting around a bit too long as most of the hop profile vanishes and you get mainly malts. A shame to taste it this way knowing how good it is when it's fresh.

Pours very light gold, crystal clear with one finger head
Smells of danky hops with a mix of orange and mango citrus. Fairly strong.

Taste is good hit of fresh citrus juice with mild bitterness. Decent balance with cracker malt character. Hops continue with a bit of spiciness. Great blend of pine, citrus, and cracker.

Moderate to high carbonation and long syrupy finish. The carbonation keeps this from being too thick as an IPA.

had this many times before but never reviewed until now. Still a solid IPA and a good little brother to their DIPA double jack. Nice balance throughout but a bit heavier than I like my single IPAs but the carbonation helps it gain some crisp finish in that sense.

12 oz bottle into a chalice

Ap- pours a dark hazy light copper color with a 1/4inch head that has OK retention

Ar- citrus, fruit, grapefruit, honey

T- the malts are balanced well with the hops and there is a great citrus representation from the hops

M- medium bodied, sticky, well carbonated for this style

O- Great brew, found this one in IL for $12.99/sixer and I am glad I got the chance to try it. Wishing I would have bought the double jack though...

Bottle to D'Achouffe tulip.

A - Pours a crystal clear radiant gold. 2 fingers of fluffy white head sit on top and linger halfway through the glass. Thick lacing everywhere.

S - Grapefruit, tangerine, slight pine, touch of alcohol. There's just a bit of mango in there as well.

T - Pine up front, with some of the fruit notes from the nose showing up. Lots of bitter grapefruit on the finish with a good deal of lasting bitterness.

M - pretty full-bodied that finishes dry.

O - One of the best readily-available IPAs on the market. A treat to drink every time.
