Poured from a 12pz bottled... Bottled on 10/03/12

A: pours a hazy orange with half a finger of white head... Dissapates nicley and leavs some very nice lacing

S: citrusy and delicious, I get grapefruit and tangerine hop aromas. Hint of pine and bitter resins as the brew warms.... Pleasant aroma, exploding with citrus hop notes more and more as it warms.

T: much like the Aroma, I get loads of citrus hop deliciousness, lemon, orange peel, and a big grapefruit juicyness. There is a touch of bitter pine in there as well.... All over a lightly sweet malt backbone. Flavor is very well rounded with a good amount of hoppy deliciousness.

M: medium heavy body with moderate carbonation and a dry bitter finish that reminds me of citrus peels, lemon and orange.

O: this is a damn good, well rounded, citrus hop forward ipa.... Refreshing with a nice drinkability.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter.

Pours a clear orange color with a half finger of sticky foam. Aroma is bursting with citrus hops, and a sweet crystal malt backbone is also evident in the nose.

First sip is a burst of citrus and grassy hop flavors. There is a decent amount of sweetness behind it, but it only manifests for a second before a strong bitter finish overwhelms the palate. This is a no holds barred IPA - there is plenty of hops to satisfy any hophead. But where this beer really shines is the careful balance it strikes with the malt backbone.

Overall, just an all around excellent IPA.

Good initial head, but I'm really impressed with the blanket of lace that remains long after the brew is gone. The color is a neutral gold. Crystal clear.

Prickly to the nose with white pepper and evergreen. Very clean and inviting. The hop is strongest but it is spot on in intensity.

Smooth initial feel to the body. Good carbonation. The flavor begins with a strong, nearly dry, pale malt. No grassiness at all. The bitterness is strong enough to punch through but it isn't extreme by any means. The aftertaste is actually a blend of the two--the hop features the white pepper bite noted in the smell.

Overall, this is perhaps the finest American Pale Ale I've ever tasted. It belongs to pantheon of great APAs--Sierra Nevada, Stone and Fresh Hop from Great Divide.

Bottle to hfs sniffer

A: golden amber color but totally translucent with a 1cm white head that stays in a ring around the edge

S: lots of fruity smell melon to oranges I can't really discribe the other smell but its good

T: you can taste that melon flavor from the nose in background the main taste the main taste is malty but not overpowering definitely not hoppy but not bad either

M: thin and very light and crisp especially for an ipa but easy to drink and not too oily

O: I usually don't like malt forward ipas but this one is pretty good nothing to special but real solid and easy to drink

On Tap at Dinosaur BBQ Syracuse NY for 6$

Appearance - Clear copper colour with a large size beige coloured head. There is a low amount of carbonation showing and there is some great lacing. The head lasted for over 5 minutes.

Smell - Malts, caramel, hops, grapefruit, tangerines

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste caramel and malts mixed with hops. There is also some grapefruit/tangerines mixed with some notes of pineapple. It ends with a sweet aftertaste with a good amount of lingering hop bitterness.

Overall – Love this beer.. I had it side by side with Double Jack and preferred it. It has more of a sharp citrus/hop flavour to it. Happy to have had the chance to try them both on tap.
