Aroma: Very bold malt and hops. Grapefruit citrus and pine upfront. Some floral notes and definitely some sweet caramel and pale malt.

Appearance: Bright gold, super clear. Just a few tiny particles can be seen floating around. Head is tall, fluffly, and just barely off-white. Decent retention and a good bit of lacing.

Taste: Wow, and explosion of sweet and bitter flavors. Bold and complex everywhere you look. Grapefruit, orange, lemon, bread, caramel, sweet pale malt. No pine can be detected, which is a plus in my book. Hop flavor is resinous and grassy, and it stings and lingers on the tongue for a while. Some bready notes show up in the aftertaste, which is nicely balanced and fairly mute compared to the main body.

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body. Very creamy and oily. Not drying. Very mild carbonation.

Overall: One of the top IPA's I've had (75+ different to date). Lots of sweet, lots of bitter. Pleasant, complex, and nicely balanced.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass - thanks Rau for this extra.

A: Standard Golden/Orange body with a rim of white head. Hardly any lacing - not impressive from that standpoint.

S: Tropical Fruits, lemon, grapefruit, a little bit of hops.

T: Nice crisp, clean taste. The tropical fruits some through with a little bit of a hoppy backbone.

M: Medium bodied, mildly carbonated.

O: Not a bad year-round brew from Firestone. Between this and Double Jack, I'm not overly impressed but they aren't bad. I'd certainly drink this on a summer day.

Served in a Duvel Tulip.

A: One finger of white froth that settled quickly leaving plenty of lacing. Clear straw color with amber highlights is an inviting sight.

S: Pine needle scent hits the nose with light malt backing.

T: Taste follows the nose with intense pine resin and a refined bitter finish. Not a malty IPA, the hops are front and center.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation

O: A quality IPA from Firestone Walker. They know how to brew hop nectar beers in the West coast style!

Golden-orange body, thin white head.

Nose is fresh cut hops. Crisp and tantalizing.

Flavor is bitter hops with a crisp malt core. Good stuff, matey!

Mouthfeel is slick, stripping and slightly chalky.

Overall, excellent, better than the growler. I didn't expect that.

Union Jack pours a clear bronze color with a small, fizzy white head on top. The foam disappears quickly leaving only a few spots of lace on the glass.

The aroma is hoppy with notes of pine, lemon and grapefruit citrus blended with bready pale malt.

Each sip of this medium bodied beer is dry on the palate with mild carbonation. The flavor is nicely balanced between toasted and caramel malt, lemon peel and orange citrus. It finishes dry with lingering caramel and citrus notes when gone.

A very tasty, well balanced, easy drinking beer. It's a little thin on the body, but get it fresh when you can.

Bomber into a crappy Marriott hotel-room glass (I really need to start packing a solid pint glass).

Tasty beer! A totally different flavor profile that a lot of the IPAs I've been drinking lately.

A: Standard clear gold

S: Hops rule the nose - sweet and tangy scent.

T: Great! Starts with a little carbonation that's quickly overpowered by lemony hops. Biscuity notes linger in the background.

M: Lovely, chewy, well-rounded.

O: Very solid brew, would definitely buy again. Didn't even notice the ABV until the bomber was empty...

Pours a brilliantly clear golden light copper color with a solid 2 finger cream head that lingers and eventually leaves thick lacing.

Aroma is dominated by caramel malt, floral hops, and a citrus undertone. Pine, resin, and grapefruit become evident.

The flavor is initially fairly balanced between bready malt and citrus, finishing decidedly bitter. Notes of grapefruit, resin, pine, and herbal tea-like hops emerge.

Body is moderate with moderate carbonation. There's a hint of astringency and a slight alcohol warmth.

Overall, a very solid, sessionable beer, despite the abv.
Not the most complex ipa, but solid.

A: Pours a 2 finger fluffy white head. Color is an deep orange straw yellow. Just what I'm looking for in an IPA. Lacing and glass retention are standout, with layers of foam adhering to the glass like superglue. Great looking beer!

S: Single threaded hoppy two-punch. Pine needles, grapefruit, lemon, orange, rock candy.

T: Strong hop presence permeates through every flavor. The traditional pine, citrus, lemon, biscuit flavors are present. The ending manifests itself through bits of caramel that absorb all moisture from your mouth.

M: Creamy and smooth. Carbonation is perfect for the style. The lingering flavor of the hops tantalizes you long after the beer is gone.

O: It's the drinkability quality that brings this beer to the top for me. Don't get me wrong, it’s not Hopslam or Heady Topper, but in terms of a "Go To" IPA, this one should be at the top of your list.
