A: Nice, typical IPA color. Burnt orange to amber. Kind of a pumpkin skin hue. Poured a good-looking soapy eggshell head that dissipated to a ring around the glass quickly. It's leaving some good lacing.

S: Honestly, I could give most West Coast IPAs at least 4.5s on the nose, but this one is pulling out everything I look for in this style smell-wise so I'm going to go ahead and give it a 5. Bigtime citrus, but also bigtime pine. Awesome caramel malt backbone.

T: Awesome. Sweet-tart candy and sour grapefruit on the tongue with a robust caramel malt character through the middle. Finishes bitter and coats the tongue. Definitely the type of juicy, resiny, hoppy IPA I and many of my fellow hopheads love.

M: Medium-bodied with a definite mouthcoating character. Medium carbonation. I wouldn't call it refreshing but then again, I wouldn't call most super bitter IPAs refreshing.

A- Light orange color with stark white head that dissipates towards the side of the glass, leaving a touch of webbing on the top. Big bubbles float on the top. This is a good, clean looking IPA.

S- Wow, BIG mandarin orange aroma with subtle grass and lemon. Just a touch of sweet malt in the back. I'm getting a hint of vanilla and really no alcohol. A fruity nose is present on this bad boy.

T- The flavor follows the aroma. Nice orange and grapefruit with some floral tones. Very well rounded hop flavor with a solid malt backbone. Very, very good representation of the style.

M- Oily with a medium mouthfeel and decent amount of carbonation. Very enjoyable.

T- This is a VERY good IPA. Quite exemplary in my opinion. Solid fruity hop notes and a sweet maltyness. YUM!

A: A brilliantly clear medium amber beer. The persistant off-white has cream and rocky bubbles that sticky, sort of climbing of the beer and up the glass. Leaves some light lacing as well.

S: A moderately-high citrus, pineapple and tropical fruit hop aroma dominates. There is a light toasty malt aroma with mild esters and a soft alcohol aroma. A slight grassiness from the dry hopping.

T: An assertive hops bitterness with some citrusy hops flavors that are showing their age. There is an interesting twist to the supportive malt flavor that I'm going to chalk up to Firestones Burton Method along with a slight toasted malt flavor. There is light ester, A slight grassy note and soft alcohol sweetness. The balance is definitely bitter with the bitterness lingering long past the dry finish.

M: A medium bodied beer with moderately high carbonation. There is some warmth and a very light prickle on the palate.

O: A strong IPA with an strong bitterness and just enough malt to keep it from going off the deep end. I have got to find a fresh bottle of this as the hops flavor is showing it's age.

had a pint on tap, review is from memory

had a ton of off white head, and the lacing was great. I could count how many drinks it took to finish this one. The color looked almost amber, but it may have been because of the lighting at the restaurant.

the smell was all hops to me.

taste was much more of the smell. hops and more hops, but not bitter

crispy mouth feel and easy to drink.

overall, not my favorite style, but a really good beer for the hop heads

Picked this up in Totowa since I never had this before and it was so highly rated on here. I've had a lot of IPA's like many on here so I was a bit skeptical to see if this would be a bit different from others in the pack. After finishing this off, there was no doubt that this was quite enjoyable and a bit of a welcome surprise, without being a complete "hop bomb". There' just enough subtlety here to keep it in check while still being strong enough to remind me that this was certainly an IPA!

This had a good almond hue to it with a soapy head and lacing the clung down the sides of my glass like dishwasher detergent. The aroma could have been a bit stronger but there was a lot to like in the taste and mouthfeel. Lots of earthy hops in the nose and taste with pine, citrus rind, and a bit of whiskey tossed in for good measure. Quite a British feel to this in the earthiness with the aftertaste finishing just a bit heavy in the alcohol. Just a hint of dark spice could be found here too but everything worked well together and this beer had the feel and texture of a liqueur like Jameson or 43. Strong this was but it never felt overpowering at any time.

There was just an undertone of the citrus rind and metallic hops that characterize so many of the west coast IPA's but there was more to this than the usual California feel that characterize American beers of this style. Yes, this was strong but that's to be expected for a beer of this style. The complexity really shone through here and the carbonation was so perfect that it took a back seat to the flavors and mouthfeel that stood out a bit more. The Union Jack on the bottle was quite fitting as this had a strong foreign feel to it and any hophead of fan of IPA's ought to try this out since a beer like this broadens the definition of what a hoppy beer is capable of being.

Golden orange color, slight chill haze, good amount of bubbles streaming that keep the thick foamy head alive. (Not the thickest, long-lasting-est head I've seen, hence the 4.5.)

Killer aroma! Super bright and citrusy all the way. Orange, apricot, mango—all with a slight sugar coating. Just perfect.

Flavor is equally as impressive. Spot-on body and carbonation. This is just hitting all the right notes. Big hops yet not tongue-strippingly bitter. Good biscuit malt balance. Really fantastic flavor all around.

Top tier American IPA. I’d be hard pressed to think of a better example. Really, really good.

A: Poured into clear mug. Head is hefty but not overly thick, dissipates quickly and leaves great looking lacing patterns all the way down the top. Really consistent how the lacing pattern ends up - don't see this too often to this degree. Brew is very bright golden color; has shine to it, very unlike the drab, guttery look of Bud and Coors. Consistent carbonation and overall very inviting.

S: Smells -amazing-! Citrusy, floral and hoppy, pine nuts, banana, cloves, and even some grapefruit-style scent coming up. 5.0 all the way, can't believe how strong it is to my very bad nose/sense of smell.

T: Tastes just like it smells. Delicious! A very light-hearted citrus-style IPA that still packs a high ABV punch in all the right ways. End result of swallowing leaves you with a perfect amount of bitterness and a malty feeling all the way down. Love the amount of character here; very diverse and unique while still retaining everything that makes IPA's awesome.

M: Creamy, but not overly creamy. Smooth, but actively present at all times. And definitely pleasant in the mouth from start to finish. I rarely give anything 5.0's but this is absolutely one case of a 5.0. I doubt there is anything you could do to this beer to make it unpleasant to drink. If my grandma put her Benson & Hedges cigarette butt out into a warm fallen soldier of this beer from a raging party the night before, I'd still probably have to take a swig or two. It's that good.

Overall: Can't believe I haven't had this until now and it's definitely one of my favorite IPA's from California as of now. I will definitely be looking forward to finding it more frequently in the future, as it's a lot more rare up here in northern California. Overall 4.75, awesome, awesome.

Pours a clear golden orange with a big creamy off-white head. Lacing sticks to the glass like glue. Smell is some fresh forest aromas. Taste is toffee, herbal sweetness up front, followed by some pine cones in the middle, and a bit of grapefruit rind in the finish. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy. Low carbonation. A pretty rich DIPA, don't expect your standard bone dry west coast creation here. Very good.
