Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Belgian Style Goblet

Appearance-Pours a copper orange color with a single finger white head.

Smell-Citrus, hops and some floral notes.

Taste-Union Jack is a citrus explosion, grapefruit, tangerine, orange and pineapple take over your mouth. The balance of citrus and hops are near perfect.

Mouthfeel-Lighter than most IPA's, carbonation levels are light to medium.

Overall-I was blown away with Union Jack. I'm always searching for heavy citrus levels and I found it with UJ. I highly encourage everyone to try this beer.

12oz bottle to snifter with a 9/10 bottling date

Pours a rich gold with little foam, despite my attempt to pour it rather aggressively. Decent lacing on the sides, foam had receded to a thin ring as I typed the above sentence. Mild carbonation, probably just had a bad pour

Aroma of juicy hops, strong tropical fruits, citrus, and some pine. Modest sweet malts also present with the alcohol. A bit fruity than most, but very good

Taste of strong hops, grapefruit, lemon, passion fruit, pine resin, and some faint floral tones. Malt translates nicely, leaving a sweet fruity after taste

Feel is pretty consistent as well, nice hop bitterness up front, dry sweet malt finish in the back. Goes down very well, leaves the mouth sticky and ready for more

Overall one of the better ipas on the west coast for a fairly decent price. Firestone walker is fast becoming one of my favorite breweries

12oz bottled June 28, 2012. About 4 months old, so not ideal, but not available in my area so I’ll take what I can get. Served at around 40F.

Pours hazy golden amber with a two finger white head that leaves lots of webs of lacing and recedes to a light cap and foamy ring.

Aroma is citrus, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, some pineapple, apricot, floral hops, decent caramel malt. Good to very good strength.

Flavor is apricot, orange, some grapefruit, moderate caramel malt backbone, mild sweetness, good bitterness, some alcohol.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, oily, a little sticky, good carbonation.

Very good IPA. I could see this being even more impressive if very fresh.

Pours orange in color with just a slight off-white head and visible carbonation. Lacing forms as this goes down.

Pungent grapefruit in the nose with a very aromatic juicy fruit.

More citrus and plenty of bready characters in the taste. Perfectly blended without being too bitter in the background. This is so easy to drink and sneaky because that 7.5%abv is hidden. Lots of pine in the background with a chewy overall malt bill. Medium to full bodied and very little in the way of residual sweetness left over.

Finishes dry and just begs for another sip. Outstanding!
