A- Pours a dark brownish red mahogany, about a quarter finger of foamy beige head, about average carbonation, slightly translucent but on the dark side.
S- Strong sweet smell of honey, a little bit of wine, molasses, rum, and some mixed fruits. One of the stronger smelling beers I've encountered.
T- A nice strong sweet taste of honey, molasses, rum mixed with a dark wine, and a mixture of dark fruits.
M- Heavy. Nice and creamy and a little bit syrupy. ABV very well hidden.
O- This was a very good Barleywine. I like Barleywines, but they've never been my favorite. Like most Barleywines this beer was a little bit too sweet and syrupy for my liking. That aside, this beer had a great taste and smell. The alcohol was very well hidden and mixed well with the beer. In a lot of barleywines the alcohol has too much of a burning taste that ruins the flavor, this is not the case in abacus. One of the best barleywines I've had, definitely recommended if you are a barleywine fan.

Nice color with a slight lacing.
Smell is oak and alcohol might be the weakest link here.
Taste oak is there, blending in very nicely with the high abv. Vanilla with light fruity taste.
Overall : English Barleywine where ya been all my life?
My first English Barleywine won't be my last. What difference does it matter what I say it is a limited production run so if you get your hands on a bottle do yourself a favor.
Overall a great beer I would put this on par with some of the finest Scotch Whiskys.
Very complex there is a whole lot going on in this bottle.
