22 oz. bottle poured into a Duvel Tulip Style Glass. Comes out an in between orange/yellow blended with gold color. Excellent clarity, I expected a little more hazyness to it, but it's not, not really a bad thing. Erupting white head that gives lots of lacing.
Smell is very good. It's very hoppy without being overwhelming. A good blend of citrus, then pine. As hoppy as it is, it's also very well malted. Pale glazed/caramelized malts. There is a slight tickle in the nose from some sweetness and I'm guessing the alcohol.
Taste is totally top shelf. Strong hoppy flavors, primarily grapefruit, then some lemon zest as well, hints of pine, hay and earthy tones all well blended. That's just the hops though, it's a very well balanced brew with plenty of malts. Again pale malts that are glazed with something real nice, almost like a honey or syrup, really, really tasty.
Mouthfeel is good, closer to medium bodied but on the lighter side. Initial sweetness with a sharp, clean bitter finish. Perfect carbonation level and extremely well balanced and drinkable. I'm digging this. My first of hopefully many Firestone Walker reviews!
