This was a 22oz bomber from A.K.A. Friscos in Frederick.
Look: Fairly clear golden-copper color with a fluffy beige head. Carbonation bubbles were plentiful. Lacing was sort of minimal.
Smell: Sweet mango and pineapple. Aroma was very tropical. A great smelling West coast DIPA.
Taste: Upfront had very juicy tropical fruits with some heavy hop resins that seemed to play on a malt bill that created a brief cream-sickle sensation in the middle. The finish was a slight bitterness that quickly faded into a lingering sweetness leftover from the fruity hop profile.
This was a very enjoyable DIPA. The juiciness was probably the best quality. There didn’t seem to be much balance between the fruity sweetness and any obscured bittering hops present, but I still think it worked well.
