A dangerously drinkable Double IPA. Double Jack opens up with bright grapefruit and tangerine American hop aromas. Beautifully crafted undertones of stone fruit are revealed upon first sip, followed by the essence of blue basil and pine. A sturdy pale and crystal malt backbone brings balance to high hop intensity. Complex and aggressively hopped, and flawlessly balanced.

Bottled on 3/8/13
Poured into a Lagunitas wide mouth drinking jar
A: Nice clear orange hue with a 1 1/2 finger creamy off white head. The head lingers quite a while and leaves good lacing on the glass as it goes down.
S: Strong grapfruit, citrus and pine. Very earthy hoppy notes on the nose.
T: Very strong rush of grapefruit at first followed by strong resiny pine hops that blend into a sweet vanilla honey mixture that burn off into a bitter finish. The finish has a bit of an alcohol burn that lasts for a few seconds and finishes clean. Nice malty sweetness to balance the beer out.
M: Medium body and good creamy mouthfeel.
O: Very good beer. I enjoy the hop flavor and the malt sweetness. Good combo and the bitter burn in the finish lets me know I am drinking an imperial ipa. Very good balanced DIPA.

Big. bold up front aroma and taste, but goes down easy. Amber color with nice creamy head, hoppy smell, and slick mouthfeel. This is how a double IPA should taste.

Yellowish color. Herbal aromas and flavor notes. Otherwise, a fairly average IPA. I'm not sure I understand the high marks this beer gets.

Pours a very light hazy amber, ample carbonation and a short lived head. A 12 ounce can dated 9/11/20 so over six months old. First time to find it locally so I bought it. It has grapefruit aroma and not particularly strong. Taste is all hops. Mostly grapefruit and pine. Definitely of the West Coast variety. I imagine it much crisper if it were fresh. I get some resin in the tongue. A hint of sweetness in there too. Overall I think age took it's toll but still tastes good and I'd like to give it another chance when I can get it fresh.

A-orange/gold, minimal head as expected with the high ABV
S-Smells like a a west coast double
T-tastes as advertised too. Relatively malt-forward, but never overly so. The grapefruit and pine stay up front where they belong. Above average bitter.
M-slightly above avg carbonation. Medium body.
O-One of the better WC DIPA's I've enjoyed, despite the SIX MONTH age. Fresh, this thing would be killer.
