A - Clear, golden tangerine color. Medium to large, thick, sticky, creamy, tight, white head. Great retention and lacing.
S - A lot of citrus aroma, in particular grapefruit. Some orange and pine hop aromas. A fairly strong sweet caramel and toffee note backing up the big hoppiness.
T - Loads of hop flavor with citrus (grapefruit) being very strong and upfront. Some resinous, oily pine taste along with a bitter flavor. There is a significant caramel malt backbone. Some ethanol/vodka alcohol flavors start to creep in. Slight burn on the finish with sweet caramel, bitterness, and a touch of alcohol lingering.
M - Medium body with average carbonation. A bit sticky and cloying (particularly on the finish).
D - Nice DIPA for sipping, but not one I'd drink quick. Big flavors, a lot of hoppiness, and some sweet and alcohol flavors with that stickiness made me want some water along side this.
Notes: Nice DIPA. Loads of hops and big flavors. Alcohol and sweetness were a bit much for me, and when combined with that slight cloying aspect, it was a little much. Very nice DIPA to sip on though. For the price it is a nice treat but not an elite DIPA.
