On-draft at the Toronado, served in a tulip glass.
A: A nice, tight head floats atop a ludicrously clear deep, DEEP copper liquid - the kind of beer that looks appetizing in the glass.
S: I got a slightly toasted caramel sweetness with some floral hops, some warm spice and citrus bitterness underneath a strong cinnamon-apple note - amazing and inviting.
T: WOW - apples apples apples, cinnamon apples, but sweet and light. Awesome, totally unexpected, and damn good. A bit cidery, with some maple syrup but decidedly NOT syrupy. Fresh, clean, and tasty.
M: Very nice. Creamy, smooth, mildly thick but not syrupy. It works well to support the flavors.
D: Not super sessionable, but so flavorful and awesome you want more.
I'm extremely glad I was able to have this while in SF. Highly recommended, but if you are looking for a DIPA you may be disappointed. Unique and amazing.

Appearance: Dark golden, slightly cloudy.
Smell: Extremely hoppy, reminded me of pine trees and Christmas spices.
Taste: Hops in the forefront with citrus, mild yeast and malt.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation and body.
Overall: Excellent. This was a very tasty beer!

The body appears crystal clear with a deep copper tone, the head is thick, fluffy, and white. Pine and lemon aroma wafts from the glass top with twinges of biscuit and caramel malt notes. Subdued malt sweetness with a bold hop bitterness show up throughout the taste; mild cereal and honey-like sweetness. Medium-heavy body with a crisp, tingly mouthfeel; dry finish.
A very nice, well-rounded DIPA. Bold and assertive IPA aroma, taste, and feel without sacrificing balance. High ABV is well-masked with the grain and hop ingredients. Very enjoyable.
