22oz bottle from j47paco (thanks Juan!). Bottled 10/19/12. Served in a Dogfish Head snifter.
Pours clear orange hued gold with two finger pillowy white head. Small occasional patches of lace.
One of those fantastically aromatic IPAs that I could smell as I poured. Big tropical citrus and piney hops with faint spice in the background. Quite nice.
Big crisp grapefruit and pineapple hops lead. Backed with wet grass, pepper, biscuit and a tad of earthy onion. Any alcohol is well hidden behind a wall of hop goodness.
Slick, medium bodied feel with moderate carbonation. Long bitter grapefruity finish.
A fantastic double IPA. My first brew from Firestone Walker has me very impressed and ready to try the Double DBA and Parabola that I have on deck. Super hoppy with a nice balance of present malts that stay in the background. Certainly worthy of seeking out and I hope this won't be my last Double Jack.
