Reviewed from tasting notes.
Pours out a very translucent amber color with orangish highlights around the edges and a two finger soapy, craggy head that lasts for five minutes and leaves behind medium amounts of spotty lacing. Medium body and carbonation levels, texturally snappy, fresh, and crisp.
Smells intensely of pine pitch, fresh grapefruit and orange peel, and medium amounts of Simcoe-styled onion and garlic, marijuana and dankness, moist overturned earth and a touch of florals and spice over the top of a clean caramel scent, absolutely NO booziness at all in either the nose or the taste.
Flavor contains all of the elements from the nose but emphasizes mostly the dank, grapefruit pith, and resinous hopping aspects at a surprisingly medium-strength level in combination with enough caramel malt to keep the palate wrecking action partially in check. It manages to be big and bold without going over the top and becoming just another mere hop bomb. More well-balanced and complex than most DIPAs I've had to date! It was well worth trying, and I recommend that you try it too.

A: Honey/light orange with a nice white head.
S: Hops, tropical fruit, alcohol, slight carmel malt. The smell lights up immediately, the way a good West Coast IPA is supposed to!
T: Heavenly. Apricots, honey, and tangerine on the front, hoppy dryness and malt sweetness on the back. This is a nearly perfect DIPA, right up there with some of the best. My top 3 West Coast IPAs are Sculpin, Alesmith IPA, and Pliny. This is in this mix.
M: Silky and perfectly carbonated. Some DIPA take on an overly heavy thickness, Double Jack gets it perfect.
O: This is a gem in this category! One of my favorite DIPA/West Coast IPAs for sure. Surprisingly drinkable for the heavy ABV. Get this beer!
