Orange colored beer, thick frothy head with good lacing.
Aroma of candied orange peel, sweet malt and pine.
Strong flavors of caramelized sugars, citrus, spruce. Solvent-like alcohol packs a punch. Boozy, caramelly, chewy malt sweetness.
Feel is thick, and slightly syrupy. The hot alcohol and sweet malt interfere with the more subtle flavors that could be displayed by the hops, and detract from the overall drinkability.
Overall, it doesn't quite live up to the hype for me. Sweet DIPAs are not my thing. I'd prefer the hops to steal the show, not get masked by alcohol and sweetness.
