My first review, and my palate discrimination sucks, so hopefully I get better a this...
First time ever having this beer.
Bottled on date: 10/03/12 (17 days old)
12 oz. bottle poured into snifter glass
A: Pours a bright amber/light copper color, 1 finger white soapy head that dissipates quickly. Slow carbonation coming from the bottom of the glass. Different than most DIPAs that I can remember in color and the lack of head.
S: Citrus, grapefruit, very floral, piney resin. Couldn't pick up much malt, just a hint. Everything smelled very fresh but nothing was overpowering. Got me very interested to see how the taste would stack up.
T: Follows the nose well. Citrus, grapefruit, possibly some orange, floral, piney. Finished with a more pronounced sweet malt backbone but still didn't jump out that much. Ironically, very full and balanced DIPA taste even without the malts being too present (at least to me). Alcohol hidden extremely well. Barely tasted it. Finished with a very juicy hop taste. Left me wanting more, in the good way.
M: Medium mouthful with low carbonation. Smooth and very easy to drink. At 9.5% ABV, watch out!
O: Very drinkable, with a full taste of a DIPA. Not the profile I was expecting but greatly surprised and liked what it was. If I was to sum up this beer's characteristics quickly, it would be finesse over power but still big. Definitely will be drinking this again. Thank you Firestone Walker!

A: Light, golden honey with a wisp of a head.
S: Grapefruit, mango, and pine.
T: Peachy or nectarine like up front for a flash and then the bitter hops come in. There's not a lot of floral nature in the hops, mostly bittering, but the bottling date was a month and a half ago so some of the complexity may have dissipated.
M: Juicy and resinous with a drying finish.
O: A solid Double IPA but would probably have been better closer to the bottling date.
