Poured from 22oz bomber into a Southern Tier Tulip

A - A BEAUTIFUL Golden orange that is just spot on for the style, a fluffy eggshell white head is dissipating rather quickly leaving a nice ring of lacing. Virtually no hop haze as it is clear as day.

S - A lot of simcoe and chinook hops in there, with a lot of citrus and grapefruit. I think this beer is nearing the end of its shelf life as I smell a bit of Simcoe astringency which seems to happen when IPAs die out. Behind it all is a sweet bready malt that seems to be a nice backbone of this beer.

T - This starts out with a boatload of sweetness, as the malt actually starts out strong, after the flavor dissapates, however, there is a soft bitterness that remains. 9.5% dont taste that at all, But there seems to be an absence of any floral qualities and it doesnt finish quite as dry as i like my IPAs, but it is a nice change of pace from what IPAs have become: Bitter Bombs that rip the enamel off of your teeth.

M - No Alcohol and Carbonation is solid. The sweetness of the malt helps tie some of the looser elements together.

Notes - I admit, I expected more adventure from this beer, but I am not disappointed. What I thought was goign to be a bold deviation from the style ended up being an extremely solid albeit off centered DIPA. The sweetness was not expected but pretty nice.

The body appears crystal clear with a deep copper tone, the head is thick, fluffy, and white. Pine and lemon aroma wafts from the glass top with twinges of biscuit and caramel malt notes. Subdued malt sweetness with a bold hop bitterness show up throughout the taste; mild cereal and honey-like sweetness. Medium-heavy body with a crisp, tingly mouthfeel; dry finish.

A very nice, well-rounded DIPA. Bold and assertive IPA aroma, taste, and feel without sacrificing balance. High ABV is well-masked with the grain and hop ingredients. Very enjoyable.

A - cloudy, golden honey color. Amber hues as well. No real head to speak of.

N - sweet oranges, grapefruit & malts

M - perfectly creamy but not to heavy. Light carbonation

T - begins with your fruity orange favors and moved into the sweet malty backbone, almost no alcohol taste to be found

O - my favorite aspect of this brew was the mouthfeel. Very easy to drink and definitely enjoyable.

A: Honey/light orange with a nice white head.

S: Hops, tropical fruit, alcohol, slight carmel malt. The smell lights up immediately, the way a good West Coast IPA is supposed to!

T: Heavenly. Apricots, honey, and tangerine on the front, hoppy dryness and malt sweetness on the back. This is a nearly perfect DIPA, right up there with some of the best. My top 3 West Coast IPAs are Sculpin, Alesmith IPA, and Pliny. This is in this mix.

M: Silky and perfectly carbonated. Some DIPA take on an overly heavy thickness, Double Jack gets it perfect.

O: This is a gem in this category! One of my favorite DIPA/West Coast IPAs for sure. Surprisingly drinkable for the heavy ABV. Get this beer!
