22oz bottle from Richie.

Pours an unbelievably clear amber with a thick creamy beige head that shows great lacing and sits as a thick cap for the duration. Again, the clarity of the body is really striking.

Aroma is full of citrus in the form of pineapple and pithy grapefruit. But there is also a big resinous pine character - a great combo overall - with some light sweet malts.

The taste is more of the same and really, really hoppy. But, when I say hoppy, I don't just mean bitter, as the bitterness is present but not overpowering, I really mean just great hop-driven flavor. It's got an initial pine kick but the grapefruit and mango bring some fruitiness to the taste. The light caramel malts keep things from getting too out of control, but barely, as this is a seriously hoppy beer.

The mouthfeel is actually on the lighter side of things for a DIPA but has good carbonation and the tingly hop bitterness ensures the body never seems watery.

Another home run from Firestone Walker - right up there with PtE for me with all the right hop characteristics. It's ridiculous how easy this drinks for a 9.5% DIPA.
