This is one of the best beers I have ever had. The aroma is incredibly strong, and you can smell the sweet citrus and pine sap without even holding the glass near your face. You start to think that the flavor cannot possible live up the promise that the aroma has made. But it does, to an extent. It's not EXACTLY the flavor that the nose indicated (that would be unfair), but it's damn close. It's almost sticky on your palate. The flavors are almost thick. It's difficult to describe, but it's unlike any other DIPA I've had. When I compare it to some of the DIPA benchmarks like Pliny and Heady Topper, I start to wonder how this is not mentioned on the same level. Is it because of its availability? Let's put it this way.. If faced with having to sniff out some Pliny or pick this up at a good bottle shop, I'd buy this in a second, and wouldn't miss the Pliny one bit.

Regular go-to if I'm feeling a DIPA

Served into a snifter from 22 oz bottle

A - Gorgeous looking golden murky DIPA with a finger width off-white head

S - Good smelling for an IPA -- I'm a stout kind of guy but this is in my top 5 for IPA's, can smell the fruit, grapefruit. Very citrusy

T - Huge grapefruit and citrus flavors. Sweet citrusy hoppy bitter goodness.

M - Medium bodied with a good level of carbonation

O - I rank this below HT and PtE but for the availability, this beer is amazing.

Poured into a Lunar Brewery Pint glass

A) Clear, golden, clover honey, color with two almost three finger head

S) Very West coast, juicy, apricot, citrus, mango, Honey, malt ball, and a little piney

T) same as aroma, very sweet, nectar, honey up front and then citrus, pineapple and apricot towards the back.

M) It's like nectar and has medium amount of carbonation.

O) Absolutely delish, great beer. I recommend for hop heads

A: Very bubbly good solid golden color with a nice thick head.

S: Smells sweet but not overpowering. Smells like something you would want to drink.

T: Slightly sweet slightly bitter, tastes a bit like honey and some caramel notes. Bit of a nutty taste as well.

M: Smooth and goes down easily. Probably the best mouthfeel of any IPA I've had.

O: Great beer. Lives up to its reputation. Could easily drink several in a sitting without getting tired of it.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into snifter.
A: Pours a clear light orange amber with 1/4 inch white head. Good retention.
S: Nice strong aroma...can smell this from a few feet away. Bright citrus, pine, and herbal hop notes. Soft caramel malt. Hint of honey.
T: Strong hop notes--citrus, pine, herbal (follows aroma). More of a balance with caramel malt presence here (compared with aroma).
M: Light-medium body. Strong bitter hops. Nice lingering on the palate. Dry finish.
D: A nicely drinkable and fairly complex DIPA. A solid offering, but not top notch.
