12 oz bottle, tulip

A – Dark orange to medium copper with amber tinting. Very mild white head, dissipates quickly. Looks very “wet.”

S – Grapefruit, resin, and more resin. Some pine and perhaps guava, something else slightly tropical (guava?). Caramel and biscuit malt backbone.

T – Grapefruit, apples, and pears. Resin and prominent bitter hops, melded very well with caramelly sweet malt.

M – Very high bitterness but a juicy, malt presence, and moderate carbonation, round out the balance. Not dry.

O – I really like that the malt provides a backbone for this highly hopped beer. I know I’m drinking an Imperial IPA, but I don’t feel like I’m getting bludgeoned.

Phenomenal beer! Close to a 90 minute from Dogfish Head. Worth it if you see it!
