Yeaaahhh maannn... uaaahhh god man. Gorgeous copper/gold color with a decent sized head full of big bubbles that still sticks around for a good while. For an IPA (or DIPA I guess) this is about as pretty as a beer can get.

Smell is full of fruity hops, the best kind of hops. Lightly floral with a big blast of tropical and citrus fruit aromas. Just enough of the pine smells to balance out the fruit. Incredibly good smell on this one.

Taste is an explosion of fruity and floral flavors. Grapefruit, orange, mango (I saw the reviews mentioning the supposed mango taste and I didn't believe it, but it's there) and floral uh... flowers... with bitterness that's restrained but still assertive enough to remind you that this is pale ale and also balance out the fruity flavors. I'm really blown away. At nearly 10% ABV there's also no trace of heat. I thought this would be a lot more bitter, but the balance is incredible.

Mouth feel is crisp, just enough carbonation, not sticky or overly heavy, I'm not really used to reviewing "lighter" beers so I'm not sure how to describe it. It does seem just right, however.

Overall, this is an utterly incredible DIPA beverage. It took me a while to get into the hoppy drinks, but I feel like if I'd had something of this caliber off the bat I would have gone nuts over it immediately. The main thing holding me back originally was the bitterness, and this one totally nails it. Founders Double Trouble hit the same notes for me; this one is just on a slightly higher level. Amazing!!!

Bottled on 11-01-13

A- nice amber color, surprisingly clear, with a half finger head that doesn't last

S- pine, floral, some tropical fruits, biscuit and sweet malt underneath

T- piney, with some tropical fruit, grapefruit, pineapple. Just a great balance between piney and floral hops and tropical hops.

M- on the lighter side of medium, some carbonation, dry

O- overall a very nice DIPA. It hides the abv very well and drinks like a normal IPA, so be careful lol. This was my first ever Firestone walker and i was not disappointed. This is a perfectly well balanced DIPA and pure enjoyment to try, thank god I have 3 more!

A- Beautiful, golden orange. Very clear. Just gorgeous.

M- creamy and filling

O- this is my second favorite DIPA after heady. Just an amazing brew and one I wish I could get more often. In 4 packs now too!

The beer comes in a clear as glass golden amber color with a fluffy tight head. No bubbles rising, no haziness, just a really strangely crystal clear color.

The aroma is incredible punch of sweet tropical and citrus fruit. Dried mango, sweet orange peel, pineapple, juicy sweet peach. A sweet caramel malt as well. In the back, you’re getting the astringency, cat pee, and bit of pine.

The flavor follows with that classic West Coast profile. A ridiculous amount of hop juice in the front. A big punch of tropical and grapefruit, with a substantial sweet caramel malt to back it up and move things around. It attacks then with tons of bitterness of pine needles. It’s really dry.

Having this again, this beer really blows me away after having it the first time in the beginning of the year and having it again towards the end of the year, I’m impressed it lives up as one of the best IPAs around. A wonderful complexity and tons of hops to keep it going. Accessible, it’s so good.
