A very nice clear amber. Head has barley any retention, but some good spotted remains. Lacing forms in rings and is only decent as well. I gave it a higher score on appearance only because of the color.
Interesting oak and wood chips. A slight bite of spicyness and fruit enter at the end.
Light and smooth mouthfeel on the palate at first, then the carbonation opens up a bit. A tiny bit of syrup lingers pleasantly behind.
Notes: Drinkablility was rated higher than I feel the beer actually deserves, but only on account that this beer is a great beer to introduce people to quality beer. Hopefully this will do for some what Sam Adams did for me, open the door.
