2012 bottle, bottled on 3/28/12.
2012 batch ABV is 4.8%, according to the bottle.

A: Hazy golden color, with a moderate head.

S: smells of bananas and light cloves, and hints of bubblegum, definitely like a belgian yeast strain, along with a hint of mandarin orange.

T: bananas, cloves, and mandarin orange upfront, then a grain-filled midpalate and finish, with hints of pear flesh, almost a hint salty too, like sea-air, along with more of the belgian yeast. I also like the little sour hints too.

M: Nice entry, the midpalate seems a touch soft, before the easy finish. Needs a touch more oomph, in my opinion.

O: I'll be curious to see how this does in the warmer upcoming weather. Seems like a nice refreshing American Pale Wheat Ale.

Poured in to a Sam Adams Perfect Pint. Hazy, golden yellow body. 1.5 finger, white head.

Aroma was very appealing. Nice notes of banana and a malty sweetness. Some light bubble gum. Mild clove. Some light citrus as well.

Taste had some big bubble gum and banana flavors. Very light, but at the same time, full of flavor. Mild sweetness. Light grainy flavor. Subtle notes of clove. Crisp with a very mild bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel was medium/light body with medium/high carb. Crisp finish.

Overall this was a delicious version of american wheat ale. Probably one of my more favorite ones. Flavors are well rounded and you could easily drink alot of these.

Pours hazy orange with slight head that fades quickly. The banana and cloves remind me of a German hef rather than an american...Also oranges as well ...a bit of spice from the yeast reminds me a little of a saison...A great summer beer. I love you Firestone Walker

Appearance: hazy orange yellow with a short wispy head.

Smell: yeast and some citrus tones come through to the nose.

Taste: mild malt profile with some grassiness, a bit of pepper, lemon zest, and an overall earthy quality. Bitterness is mild.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Very crisp throughout and mildly refreshing.

Overall: an easy to consume beer. This one is not overly exciting either, but drinkable.

Pours a hazy, maize/gold color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of yeast, hint of alcohol, citrus, hint of hop, and a hint of dough. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of dough, yeast, slight citrus, hint of alcohol, and a hint of hop. Overall, poor appearance, but good aroma, feel, and body.

A – Inviting hazy golden-yellow color with a 3 finger off-white head which leaves good lacing.

S - Delightful aroma of butterscotch, clove, and fruit

T – Esters of banana, nectarine, lemongrass, and clove. Malt comes in just enough to bring balance without ever becoming prevalent. Lingering aftertaste is subtle hops. So well balanced that one flavor never really dominates.

M – Well carbonated (one could say perfectly so), medium bodied, finishes clean and crisp.

O – Wow, is this good. A complex, flavorful, brew that Blue Moon only wishes it could be. This is my new favorite for the style. Kudos to Firestone Walker.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: golden hue with a light touch of haze. Effervescence is good, but there is absolutely no head at all -- not even a thin layer. Plain.

Smell: lightly fruity, refreshing aroma. Not particularly strong, but clean and at least a little intriguing.

Taste: decent wheat flavor with a bit of a bock-like sweetness. Practically no bitterness and the finish has an almost sickly sweetness. Not bad, but not perfect either.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a light level of carbonation. Not particularly interesting.

Overall: this beer does not wow me in any way. It is decent, but like a lot of other APWAs I don't feel the need to revisit this well again anytime soon.

Presentation: 12 oz short bottle, ABV is marked but I don't see a date.

Appearance: Orange yellow with a slight haze, average head that fades to a think layer that sticks around.

Smell: Yeast funk, a bit of banana, and just a hint of floral hops. Wheat aroma comes through more as it warms.

Taste: Nice combination of wheat, spicy yeast flavors, and just a little bit of citrus. There is some hop bitterness in there balancing things out.

Overall impression: Great wheat beer, could definitely enjoy several of these. I can't think of another wheat off hand that I'd rather have.

This is good, but a bit strong for what you get.

Hazy pale amber-orange, it has a small off-white head soon vanishes completely. It looks just ok.

Aroma is mineral, grain, hay, some apple, faint hints of clove and banana. It's good, but not great.

Taste is grain, light raisiny alcohol, fermented pears, hint of clove-like bubblegum, lemony zestiness. It's a bit sweet, but has good, well-rounded character and good depth. It has a nice, full feel and is very enjoyable.

Bought a 6-pack of this from Albertsons Grocery in Los Angeles, CA for $8.99. Grabbed one of the 12 FL OZ baby blue bottles with a sun around the O in Solace and poured into my 0,4l New Belgium Oversized Snifter Glass. No freshness date on the bottle. (Enjoyed before Game 1 of the World Series- STL vs. TX.)

Aroma- Strong grapefruit aroma from the beginning with tons of grain. Has a nice hop aroma but everything well balanced in the aroma. Seems like it is going to be smooth and great tasting Hefeweizen style brew.

Appearance- Pours a .5 finger head that dies very quickly (unusual). Has a deep golden color body that is hazy and nice to look at. At this point, others at the party are wondering what other brews I'm going to be breaking out since these have such good appearance. Leaves good lacing afterwards.

Flavor- Has a good grainy taste to start and then the citrus flavor kicks in huge! Very nice tasting, sweet and has good strength. This Hefe puts some pop into your mouth!

Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Low Carbonation, and has good flavor all the way through past enjoyment!

Overall Impression- This Hefe was almost stronger than the ABV's are listed! I didn't mind this though since the citrus flavor was so dominant. Since this is a limited release, I don't think I'm going to be seeing this one anytime soon (until next summer if I go back to Cali).

12oz brown stubby bottle, capped. Label states that this is a Limited Release. Pours our a pale-golden yellow with tons of tiny bubbles. Very small head that doesn't last at all.

Smell is wheat, lemon notes and also some clove and banana. Almost leaning towards the smell of a Belgian beer. Taste is sweeter than I expected but in a good way. Malty banana start this beer out and it ends with a nice spicy bitterness. Nice little yeast bite that adds some complexity.

I am drinking this in the mid to upper 40's and it really brings out some great flavors. Still clean and easy drinking but tons of layers of flavors. Very easy drinking beer that I would love to have one tap.

Everybody in SB loves Firestone. Loves em! Let's see what this hype is all about.

A: Beautiful pour leads to two fingers of awesomely retentive head. Wow. A shake at the bottom of the bottle leads to two different layers of beer. A top, darker murky layer of off copper transitions beautifully into a bottom layer of almost lemonade color beer. It looks like a perfectly layered Arnold Palmer. Nice.

S: Soap, clove, citrus, some graininess, lemon zest.

T: Citrus rind, cloves, spice, clove again, mild soapy phenols. Nice moderate bitterness to bring through the finish.

M: Flows down. Carbonation doesn't get in the way. Amazing balance.

O: I didn't believe. I thought Firestone was a meh brewery. This beer proves me wrong. Nicely done, Firestone.

On tap at Schooners Patio Grille in Santa Clarita, CA.

Pours a murky honey orange with a 1 inch fluffy bone colored head that fades to a small cap. Sticky chunks of foam line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, spices, yeast, and some citrus aromas. Taste is of wheat bread, mild spices, yeast, and some citrus zest. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp and clean mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good wheat beer that is nice and refreshing to drink.

12 oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a generic hefeweissbier glass in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live.

A: Pours a four finger head of slight cream, good thickness, and good retention. Colour is a hazy yellow-gold.

Sm: Light and pleasant citrusy/floral notes. Very mild in strength, but incredibly inviting.

T: Light cream on the open is very welcome, and the body is light plain barley. The real joy is in the floral, honey, and light citrus notes atop the foundation. It's a simple beer, but a balanced and pleasant one.

Mf: Very light. Very smooth and wet, suiting the understated flavours.

Dr: It's very drinkable, and with how light it is I'm impressed it's 6%. I'd have it again on draught. I wish it were more complex, but for what it's trying to do it's successful. I look forward to trying more beers from this brewery.

Poured a bright golden color, with a decent cap of bubbly off-white foam. Aromas of floral hops, somewhat grassy, bubblegum and biscuit. On the palate, this one was light to medium bodied, with flavors of good hops, as well as some pears, peaches and biscuit malt.

A: Hazy orange/straw color. Poured a thin white fizzy head that went to nothing. No lacing.

S: Citrus and banana Banana. Light spices, cloves and coriander and wet bread.

T: Banana and clove are very pronounced in the front and middle. Finish is sweet with mild coriander.

M: Light body. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, refreshing and slightly sweet.

O: Beyond its lackluster appearance, nothing really wrong with the beer. Nose a little muted and maybe should be a bit more carbonated. Just seemed to have a couple misses here and there.

I bought a couple of bottles of Solace in a grocery store while vacationing in Nevada. Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours a pale yellow gold color and is an unfiltered cloudy. Modest white head leave little or no lace on the glass.

Smell is faint and sweet. There are soft fruit notes like peaches and pears, along with some light grain scents.

Taste is very sweet, more like a witbier I think. A little sweet bread flavor up front and then a ton of sweetness, pears and melons maybe a bit of a pineapple flavor when you put it all together.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied but fairly clean.

Overall a very drinkable and flavorful wheat ale.

A- Pours hazy golden yellow with a tint of orange, thin white head, very little lacing

S- banana, cloves, wheat, spice. Light citrus note

T-mostly a light wheat with banana note, light spice with clean finish kind of dry

M-light and refreshing. Good carb.

O- not a huge fan of wheat beers, but always good alternative on a hot day. Better of the style in my opioin. I could probably sit down and drink a 6 pack to myself. Light and resfreshing. Wish it came in cans so I can take it to the pool! Lol

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Yellow straw color with a hint of orange. Very hazy although a differnt hazy from other Wheat's I've had. One finger head the instantly disappears and leaves no lacing.

S: Banana, cloves, coriander, lemon. Light graininess. Typical wheat beer. A tad muted.

T: Banana is the dominate flavor. Cloves are next. Coriander spiciness comes through in the finish.

M: Medium bodied. Could definitely be creamier. Tad high in carbonation. Still refreshing as a wheat beer should be.

O: Disappointing, only because this is Firestone. I'm getting to a point where if their beer doesn't blow me away then I'm disappointed. Still a good beer.

hazy bright golden yellow coming through immediately. Nice white puffy head on top quickly faded leaving behind a broken crown and some nice carbonation.

The aroma was odd. Very light and almost non existent at times. What was there seemed a touch artificial to me to be honest. Light grain and some off fruit notes, not very appealing at all. The flavor was a little bit better, but still very weak in my eyes. It started with a nice rush of light grain, some mild fruitiness as well. Light touches of peach and passion fruit I guess highlighting it, but leaving quickly with only a touch of light grass like flavor in the finish, which was itself short-lived.

Hazy yellow/amber with a thin skim and collar of white bubbles. Wheat cracker aroma, slight fruitiness, toast, mild citrus and spiciness. Low bitterness with wheat and malt, not a lot of sweetness, toasty with a flash of grassy hops and slight spiciness in the finish. Light bodied with carbonation on the low side, fairly dry. It's well done for what it is, a subtle beer that's not out to clobber you with over the top aromas or flavours.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a medium white head that quickly goes to a thin collar that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is hefeweizen like - banana and clove with some light citrus, pepper and wheat.

The flavor is a bit subdued and watery with some yeasty banana and wheat with some sweet fruity malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and watery.

Overall, I was not too impressed especially at $10 for a 6 pack. It's watery with too much banana for me. It does get a bit better as it warms.

Drank straight from bottle...like a champ
A- The bottles alright, has a summery feel to it. Looks arabic. hAs anyone seen man-bear-pig?
S- Smells like banana whitefruit honey, slight caramel smelll and with a tinge of honey. And white malts.
M- Light yet silky. Deifnitely light for an ale.
O- A great summer beer. A Bavarian style hef. Flavorfull without the fillingness.

Single purchased @ Trader Joe's in San Clemente, California and presented in a brown 12 oz. bottle. "Craftily Unfiltered."

Pours a hazed orange color with a small white head that dissipates rapidly. Aromas of malt, floral hops and spicy yeast. Smooth and medium bodied with good carbonation. Opens with toasted malt, wheat and a sweet nuttiness. Hops assert themselves with some balancing bitterness. Belgian yeast and residual spiciness kicks in at the conclusion. Finishes dry.

A refreshing summer seasonal ale that's worth a try.

Poured from 12oz bottle into tall weizen glass.
Bottled on 4/14/2011.

Aroma: Spicy yeast with a slightly Belgian profile. Some vanilla, and a hint of apple juice.

Appearance: Very hazy tan/orange body (per style), 1 finger off-white head, which disappears almost immediately. Minimal lacing. I was expecting more foam and lacing with this one, but it fell a bit short.

Flavor: Similar to the aroma. I got a slight metallic twang toward the front. Some more apple juice/apple skin shows up in the middle, and a subtle bitterness appears at the end.

Mouthfeel: Medium-high CO2. Medium-full body.

Overall: A tasty-enough beer, but, I rate it around average. A bit more sweet spice to it than anticipated for an American wheat ale. It's likely that this one is better on draught, so I will keep my eyes out for it.
