Decided to do a porter thing with my GF on x-mas eve. First up was the Taddy Porter. Now this.
Dark brown, hints of opacity towards the edge of the glass. Magnificent head with an averagely vigorous pour. Lacing is nice throughout the session, I give it an 8 out of 10.
Nose dominated by herbal hops. Upon taking a stronger whiff, I get some chocolate and roast malts as well.
Flavors are nice for a porter. Chocolate, herbal hops, roasty after taste as well. For a 5.9% beer, I was expecting a little more though.
Mouthfeel is nice, maybe a hint over carbonated for my tastes, but probably spot on for the style of American Porter.
Overall this is a rock solid interpretation of an American Porter. Would recommend seeking out.
