Appearance: Utter black in color, with a moderate, dense tan head, which retains quite well. Thick, fine beaded lacing coats the glass walls.
Aroma: Deep aroma of pine hop, bitter cocoa, cold espresso, dark chocolate, ,
Taste: Roasted malt, bitter cocoa and earthy hops at the open, soon followed by cold coffee. Wood and char appear later in the taste. Towards the close, leafy, earthy hops assert themselves. Finishes with a mild, lingering herbal bitterness.
Mouth feel: Fairly full, with a hint of zesty carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: A solid, competently-made example. At $5.99 for a bomber, this seems a bargain.
Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber sealed with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
Sourcing: Purchased at Spec's in Texas for $5.99 for a twenty-two ounce bomber.
Serving type: bottle
